DMC5 is a loveletter to the series. The graphics are great, the gameplay smooth, and the bosses are challenging but not too difficult.

You get to play as Nero, Dante and V, all of which have different playstyles. V commands two demons, so you have to manage them and youself at the same time. Nero has one weapon and many different types of 'devil arms' that he can use to change his moves around, while Dante has multiple weapons he can use at once (pistols, shotguns, rocket launchers, multiple swords, A FREAKING MOTORCYCLE) and 4 stances that modify the many weapons he can equip.

The story is interesting, and you get to play through the missions from different perspectives. Bloody Palace takes you to an arena to fight for as long as you can through hordes of enemies.

DMC5 isn't about hacking and slashing through enemies. It's about styling on them. Doing long air combos and having high variation in your moves will increase the style meter, and gives players a reason to go back and replay missions once they're more experienced to get that S rank. DMC5 makes the player feel like a badass.
