All good Halo games for a good price.
Even better than when they were first released with all the added features.

I recommend this game especially when it is on special and if you liked the original Mirror's Edge despite its' shortcomings. A very good experience but not to be overhyped - 8/10.

More detail:

If you liked the original Mirror's Edge and are unsure about buying this game, I hope this will give you a better idea of what the game is like (I was in this situation). I liked the original Mirror's Edge and played it many years ago, revisiting it a few times over the years. I held off on getting this game because I heard the game did not live up to the hype.

Running is better, feels smoother, I think it meshes well with the open-world sections where you can just keep running from one objective to the next, it has great flow and can be a lot of fun. Running during story missions and through set-pieces are also a lot of fun to experience. The running in this game is a worthy successor to the mechanics of the original game. I also think the running is well-integrated with the combat mechanics.

In my opinion, combat has improved. Although you can't pickup guns like in the first game, its not surprising that it was removed since gunplay was never a focus for these types of games. Running essentially builds a shield, it encourages you to be on the move, being harder to hit, allowing you to tank shots and the directional heavy attack is quite satisfying to use. There are also a few unlockable skills that can help to mix up the combat. While satisfying, can get repetitive - ends up being a mixed bag.

I thought the aesthetics and graphics of the game were great. Almost everything looks beautiful and there are some sections of the game that made me stop running and look around instead. An issue I noticed with the graphics would be the reflections, even on the highest setting you may notice some issues with the reflections. Still, a significant improvement over the original Mirror's Edge.

The music of the game will give you the same general feeling as in the first game, not much has changed, music may be less iconic aside from 1 track that I can remember. The ambient sounds and music definitely contribute to the game's atmosphere.

The level design is more of the same from the first game, and I think this is good. Each of the main story missions have mostly linear level designs that are similar to the first game and some of the set-pieces were also enjoyable to experience. The open-world is more like a semi-open-world, which some people seem to dislike. Since the linear levels are present in the main story missions, I don't think the the "open-world" that connects each of the missions takes away much from the rest of the game. If you don't like running around the open world, there are fast travel points that you can unlock through parkour puzzles. It can always just be fun to run around from one area to the next and there is a good variety of areas that feel different. I preferred to run rather than fast travel most of the time, unless the objective was on the complete opposite side of the map.

Rolling to reduce fall damage has been added to a skillpoint tree rather than being an ability that you start with. Quick turning while wall climbing has also been moved to the skill tree, but overall I don't think it negatively impacts the game very much. Rolling was the first upgrade that I got, between 30-60 minutes of playing the game and quick-turning can also be upgraded after a few story missions. The developers could've made you start with it, but they didn't, and I found that it wasn't a big deal since they can be unlocked pretty quickly, depending on how highly important you think it is. Even if they are locked behind skillpoints, you'll still be able to use them for the rest of the time you spend playing the game.

The story is arguably generic, but the story in the original Mirror's Edge also wasn't spectacular. I definitely think the story is a step above the original, especially with the cutscenes and voice acting. As an overall experience, the missions can be a lot of fun with a good-above average story. Much like the first game, the gameplay reaches the climax but the story feels only 80% complete at the end. Some characters get character development, some characters get side-lined, not a big deal.

Collectables provide a bit more backstory to the game. and can be fun to find and listen to while just running around.

The only thing I didn't like was the missions like "dashes", "distractions", "deliveries" that put you on a timer and have you following a set path through the open-world sections of the game. The timer can be pretty tight and may result in you needing to follow a specific path with no mistakes. This sucks because if you run out of time, you go straight back to the start and you lose the flow that you get into while running (frustrating and makes running them unfun). Ignoring this part of the game, I finished the main story and a few side missions in 8-9 hours (I haven't done much of the other side content, collectibles, etc.).

While a lot of the individual pieces of the game are mixed with some good and bad points, the bad points do not impact as heavily as the good points and the overall experience of the game ends up being pretty good. I enjoyed this game, if you buy and play it, I hope you do as well.
