This game has the spirit of Oregon Trail and the music is great.
There are at multiple cars, starting kits, and endings which makes it replayable.
The game can be played in a new game+ mode where you can keep your previous upgrades.

Road events are handled in a symbol matching mini game. The symbols represent a threat to your resources; money (yellow), energy (green), car durability (blue), and gas (red). You match the various player/passenger skills and glovebox items eliminate the threat icons. Game mechanics are not very complicated and at times could be too simple, especially if you have a fully upgraded car when starting a new game+. However the game does state that the road event difficulty increases faster after you unlock all the cars to compensate for the simplicity. I would say it's very much worth its price of between $15-$20 USD.

The 1.9 version update added a much needed difficulty option for hard mode. Now, during the race in hard mode, the AI drivers will aggressively push tires more often and use different strategies to get ahead and create gaps.

In this year's game the driver mistake chance has been decoupled from the race pace commands. In F1M23 a driver's mistake chances are heavily influenced by the new Driver Confidence system and to a lesser degree the Overtake Aggression and Defense strategy options. This Driver Confidence meter can add or subtract stat boosts that govern mistake chances.

TLDR:
Better than F1M22 in every way.
Hard mode is the way the game should be played.
You must learn how to increase your drivers confidence during the practice sessions to avoid lap 1 turn 1 incidents.

When I tried to play the game there was a graphics bug that showed black boxes instead of text and character sprites. Game refunded.
