Fun game, a lot of great upgrades over VT2 and the core gameplay loop is extremely fun and addictive.
Much better since the initial release.

This is the way the game should have released.

While I can't anything positive about how the launch has been going, I'm honestly not surprised at all. Anyone that's looked at any major MMORPG launch recently should know by now that you're going to have server issues. Take a look at Final Fantasy 14 ARR on launch. Take a look at Blade and Soul which just released last month on launch. Hell, we can take a look at some other heavy online only games that have been royally F*** uped on their launch (looking at you Sim City and Diablo 3). Capcom Pro Tour is also next month, which is one of the biggest reasons they released the game with some of the content missing, so the professional scene can get on this game. If you don't want to play a game in a "half-complete state" just wait until next month, and then wonder why you didn't just play earlier when you're getting bodied online by people that stuck with the game.
With that out of the way, Here's what I think of the game so far, barring server issues.

Combat 10/10
I don't have a lot of history when it comes to fighting games, but I can say that combat in SF5 feels amazing. Comparing the game to USF4, the timings of all the attack feels so much looser, and it was really screwing with me for a bit. It's extremely easy as a new player to do some quick reading, maybe watch a video, and then hop into training mode and get a 300~ damage off in a combo consistently in 10 minutes. The new V-Trigger that they've added in is much more new player friendly compared to focus attacks in USF4. I appreciate Capcom's efforts to reduce the steep learning curve that usually stops new players from picking up fighting games (myself included).

Sound 10/10
This music gets me hyped. Punching someone gets me hyped. Kicking someone gets me hyped. I could play this game the music alone.

Story/Single Player Content - Not Scored
I won't bother with reviewing the story right now, It's extemely short, easy to beat, and just showcases how everyone got to where we are. Kind of. Not having a versus mode with CPU as player 2 is kinda dumb. Survival mode is a good way to kill time but it doesn't get challenging until Hard.

Graphics 7/10
Ok, this is where I start having some issues with how the PC version was done. It honestly feels like a bad port of a console in a lot of cases. When I went to adjust the graphics settings, there were barely any settings to tweak, compared to USF4 which had a lot more to play around with. Motion blur and DOF being forcefully tied to Post-Processing makes me a little frustrated. I play every game with these 2 settings disabled, but other post-processing effects such as volumetric lightning turned on. Graphics options included are Resolution Scaling, Anti-Aliasing, Post-Processing, Shadow, Texture, and Effects. From there you can adjust them from Low to Max. Also, what the hell is not having native Borderless Fullscreen mode. I'm using autohotkey to emulate it, but most people don't want to go through the trouble of doing that just to have a feature that's been in games forever. Menu's don't have any mouse support, and they have the press A/X/Y nonsense that just screams bad console port. But they do look extremely nice. In game graphics look good as well, motion is fluid, textures are crisp, and there are just enough effects to make everything look extremely awesome, without detracting from gameplay elements by smothering the screen with them. Anti-Aliasing could be better, or have multiple options of anti-aliasing, since whatever method is used here smooths out the edges a tad too much for me and makes everything look extremely blurry.

Game Performance 10/10
It runs at 60 FPS without dipping.
I used a few test machines to see how "low" power of a rig you can get away with before suffering a single frame dip. All tests were done at 1920x1080 and the only thing that I cared about was the minimum frame rate. All I had were Intel/Nvidia setups though. An i5-2500 with a GTX680 did just fine on this game, although I had to turn down shadows a little to get it to stay at 60. An i3-4160 with GTX750ti also did pretty well, but I had to lower shadows and effects to stay at 60 frames. My main rig, an i7-4790k with a GTX980 obviously tore through this game. My rendering machine with a i7-5960x and a Radeon R9 390 also tore through this game. You don't need the i5-4690 and GTX960 to enjoy this game if you don't mind turning the graphics settings down a little.

Overall Enjoyment 8/10
This is the first fighting game that I actually stayed up for release for, and I didn't go to sleep until 8 hours after it's release. I spent most my time in Training mode, getting a feel for each character, before hopping into the story and blowing through it. I'll update this review once Capcom releases the rest of the content but so far, this the most enjoyable fighter that I've played to date.
