I'm bad at writing reviews and it's really hard to put into words why I like this game so much. Definitely a MUST play if you enjoyed Pony Island and Inscryption, and I recommend this game to anyone that enjoys a good story.

It's short, but I think that's appropriate. It was fun to go through and explore new and fresh ideas. However, what really makes them shine is how they were presented in the story. There were a few moments where the game changes, and the soundtrack slams in at just the right time, and the characters react to it, and it sets the vibes so well, and it was done in such a memorable way I think about it weeks later and go "wow, that moment was really cool."

If you're thinking about picking it up, do it!

Despite the fact that this game has you buying characters that have their own gameplay differences with no chance of getting them for free, I have not payed a single dollar. I still love the base content of the game.

This game is actually pretty simple (even though the tutorial sort of fails), yet it takes hundreds of hours to master. Even though I could get more characters from the paid-DLC, the base characters are fair and balanced, and I still haven't mastered them. Getting the DLC doesn't give you an unfair advantage, as you still rely on the same skill on those characters as any other character. Despite the fact that many elements in this game are RNG-based, you can use your skills to make the tables turn in your favor.

That's not to say that the game is perfect. The biggest gripe is that some cards feel absolutely useless, and there is a victory that requires specific cards, which most of those are also useless. But you can actually come up with creative ways to dump them for chances of getting better ones within the game.
RNG is a complaint I hear from a lot of players, but you have ways to mitigate the damage of bad RNG, and learn to make educated decisions that can actually turn the bad consequences of RNG-based events into actual benefits. If you mastered the game, you won't get 100% chance of winning with pure skill, but it's still a high enough chance that you can actually win consistently.

Overall, fun game to play. I recommend it, even if you don't have the extra dough for the DLC characters.

I love this game! I am a big fan of Shoot 'Em Ups and Rhythm Games, and this game offers the satisfaction of both! If you're a big fan of intense, classic gameplay, the max difficulty has music and bullet patterns that keep you on your toes. Even if I played a song once, I like to play it over and over, and I find my fingers happily tapping to the tunes I really like, while staying on guard from the bullets that are getting me from behind. This is truely a great Idea, and I do hope they make more games like this.
