Early Access Review
Path of Exile 2 has been an utterly frustrating experience. The game's difficulty feels artificially inflated, with mobs that are absurdly tanky and swarm the player, making movement nearly impossible. It's as if the developers didn't bother playtesting their own game.

One glaring issue is the excessive health of even the most basic enemies. Battles that should be quick skirmishes turn into tedious slogs as you chip away at health bars that seem disproportionately large. This not only disrupts the pacing but also makes combat feel like a chore rather than an exhilarating challenge.

Moreover, the mob density is overwhelming. Enemies have a tendency to cluster and surround you, leading to frequent deaths simply because you can't maneuver or escape. This design choice feels punishing and unfair, stripping away any sense of strategic combat.

The introduction of the dodge roll mechanic seems like a feeble attempt to address mobility issues, but it's poorly implemented. The roll often fails to provide the necessary escape from tight situations, especially when mobs block your path entirely. It's baffling that such a core mechanic feels so unreliable.

Boss fights are another pain point. They are unnecessarily prolonged due to inflated health pools, making them feel more like endurance tests than skill-based encounters. The lack of balance in these fights is evident and detracts from any potential enjoyment.

In summary, Path of Exile 2 feels like a game that punishes players rather than challenging them. The combination of tanky mobs, overwhelming enemy density, and unreliable mechanics suggests a lack of proper playtesting and an understanding of enjoyable game design. It's a disappointing sequel that fails to capture the essence of what made its predecessor engaging.
