weapons really feel impactful, excellent sound design, cleverly designed maps and enemies - all-round terrific game.

EDIT: strangely, the totem of souls has a wildly different disposition in each chapter. I found this very confusing to the overall direction of the story. I had the impression in the first chapter that I was on a mission (albeit against the protagonist's will) to banish evil from the land with the guidance of a native american totem/god type thing. Cool, agreeable, I can do that. Then in the second chapter, you have a similar mission, but the totem for some reason hates being there, and thinks you and everyone else is a moron. Then in the third chapter, another undead convinces you to run away from the totem with him, then you try to build a new version of it anyway, and it turns out to be a big bad? but they told you how to kill two other evil creatures? I thought maybe it was like, they were competition, but in the end cutscene there's plenty of other evil creatures. My best guess without this just being poor writing, is that either we don't know the totem's motives, or we literally made him evil by making a new totem using an evil creature's soul.
