It's clear this was a rushed development of a DLC pack. I say over 75% of the 160 new puzzles I didn't solve the way it was intended or the solution felt quite cheap or finnicky to even execute. A lot of this has to do with gravity parts. These puzzles go against best puzzle building practices, which developers of the game years ago created!

I kind of get why this was implemented, as to encourage creativity, but years ago, a sandbox mode was created for this very purpose! I kind of like the more tried and true method of creating puzzles described in the guide, which I have created many myself and try to follow this guide as best as possible. This is The Incredible Machine puzzle design, antiquated and tired due to limitations with tech back in the day. I can see the duct tape and patchwork being used to make it feel like a physics game. Contraption Maker has a more robust physics engine that follows Newtonian physics very well with most part ideas, with "whimsical force" parts thrown into the mix to make contraption-making fun, varied, and interesting.

Shameless plug aside, I have seen better puzzles created by users on the workshop than I have paid for the privilege of playing in this DLC pack. I have seen lots of low effort content on the same workshop, but this puzzle pack comes close to that kind of level of quality.

Puzzles use the same old methods of triggering parts. Very common combos are:

Ropes and pulleys activating lights.
Flashlights activating fuse-ended parts.
Tim maze puzzles.

It gets repetitive.

Why are there puzzles where you guide mice to a mouse hole, but not use the mouse door part? Puzzle #155 in particular, where do the mice go? Using the actual door part would work wonders here!

Kevin Ryan, I think your strengths are better suited to making part ideas come to life, making good quality-of-life game changes, and fixing long-standing bugs. I and I think many others have suggested part ideas they want to see in the game. I wouldn't mind paying money for a "fan-suggested parts pack" or similar. The upcoming Mighty Knights sounds more complicated than its own good. I was OK with Wonderstructs because ball roller coasters are fun, so Contraption Maker integration makes sense. Battling Cards got repetitive really quickly and became tricky designing puzzles with math problems and a poker chip avalanche being hard to predict. Puzzle building in Contraption Maker should come from a source of understanding part ideas on an intuitive level. Many household items tend to fit this criteria when making them work in Contraption Maker.

Some modders try too hard to reinvent the wheel, like Thinking with Time Machine.

It's like early Paper Mario games, Bug Fables, and Undertale's pacifist run had a baby, grew up, and it stayed cute while still being tasteful about many subject matters, either for kids or for adults. Highly recommend this game for anyone.

It says full controller support but the controls are crippling and I can't change them. It's like the controls were borrowed from Steam FPS profile but for a game that doesn't have jumping and shooting controls. It's a wrong fit. Also game threw me completely off guard by letting the walls down, releasing mummies, failing me once I collected everything. Talk about an unfair punish.

Where's the Angry Beavers, Chalk Zone, Rocket Power, and Fairly OddParents reps? TMNT and Garfield just feel wrong with this cast. There's probably more Nicktoon reps I am missing beyond the 2000s but the ones mentioned are definitely missing.

Looks like a quick whipped up cobbled together game. The player character behaves like a ball, but instantly stops once you let go of the movement. When trying to turn yourself around, this is very jarring. I need let go then move again to turn around instantly. If I did this like any other 3D game, momentum isn't preserved in the direction I was going but rather the direction I want to go.
