When we consider the universe and the material in it, we notice that it is almost like a timer, everything is slowly unwinding. What started it? Does everything we see around us, the stars, galaxies, and the very fabric of space and time, point to a deeper cause beyond the universe itself? For centuries, human beings have asked whether the universe is eternal, self-existent, or contingent on something greater. The Cosmological Argument asserts that the very existence of the universe demands an explanation. Far from being an outdated argument, the cosmological approach has grown stronger with advances in modern physics and cosmology. Both science and reason point to a prime mover, an omniscient, omnipotent, omnibenevolent, omnipresent, and eternal creator. A being that can be observed and proven through a court of law based argument. Assuming the universe was self-created directly contradicts the first law of thermodynamics, matter is neither created nor destroyed. So we know that’s not it… Assuming the universe is eternal directly contradicts the second law of thermodynamics, when matter's energy is used it is transferred into unusable energy, it doesn’t cease to exist and if the universe is eternal knowing that everything is an unwinding timer, why isn’t all the universes energy in a state of unusable energy? So we know that this approach isn’t rational either. The only explanation left is an intelligent designer. Design demands a designer.
