My very first video game that I ever played. When I found it on steam, I couldn't believe my eyes. My childhood, the game that manifested my love for videogames, is on steam? nah m8. nah.

Controls are clunky, but besides that: I feel like a 6 year old again.

It's intimidating to start off with. After 75+ hours of gameplay I still get surprised at what monstrosities it manages to throw at me. To dash into the fog of war and all of a sudden alert the presence of two cyberdisks and three mutons with your squaddie support generally means you are absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥, as this game punishes you hard for your mistakes. It holds lots of room for replayability to try out different starting continents, different item builds and figuring out the most efficient way of not pissing the council off.

Overall it's a pretty awesome game, not only is the character progression an awesome and really deserving system if you manage to keep your soldiers alive, but you almost feel personal with the soldiers. It doesn't matter how many more snipers you can level and how many kills they get, you'll never forget that first sniper who killed a Cyberdisk and two Mutons with In the Zone with 1 HP left, completing the mission (R.I.P Theresa 'Lady Grey' Svensson, 2013).

Do recommend. Play on hard to begin with. It's not that Normal is too easy, but for a horror-esque game it'd be good if you wouldn't roflstomp all over the aliens.
