Edit 3:
Sony seems to have placated us with the PSN account requirement being dropped, but they're doubling down and restricting sales and support in even more countires.

We all dive together.

Edit 2:
I guess you should never underestimate hundreds of thousands of people who've been conditioned to organize themselves in a coordinated fight against bots and bugs. The sony major order has been completed and they've backtracked all their region-locking requirements.

It's a great day for managed democracy!

Edit 1:
After some thoroughly un-democratic moves by sony, I can't keep this review positive.

Baiting-and-switching a good chunk of the player base with their PSN account requirement and essentially region-locking customers out the game they've already bought and paid for is a deplorable business tactic. Do better.

While the art style and soundtrack are great, this game is painfully slow-paced and suffers from poor balance, particularly in the early game.

Other reviews have stated it, but this game starts out frustratingly hard, with enemies that outnumber, out maneuver, and out-damage the player, and becomes easier over time, the exact opposite of logical progression.

Because of this fact, it's simply not fun, and instead is a Mechanicus themed grinding simulator for the STC's that are desperately needed to make it more playable. This may be grimdark, but it's not worth your money.

While the first-person-shooter gameplay is decent, and on-foot exploration is interesting, Odyssey is an overall downgrade to the game.

Graphical issues are striking with identical settings giving significantly reduced quality and framerates when compared to Horizons, while being considerably more demanding on the same hardware.

Worst of all are the UI changes, with the map being harder to navigate, and fitting menus being nearly unusable.

I wouldn't recommend picking up Odyssey until the well deserved "early access" tag has been removed, or sometime in July, whichever comes last.

While the controls are a bit clunky and some of the animations aren't the greatest (looking at you, row-boat animation being completely backwards), this game has a pretty immersive world and a decent story.

If there's a PC game that lends itself better to a controller instead of keyboard/mouse, this is definitely one, so keep that in mind as well

8/10 would recommend (but don't bother with the special edition, since it really only gives you a good horse that kinda wrecks the whole mechanic of progressing through better & better ones)

While there's a great big unexplained gap in the story between DOOM and DOOM Eternal, the gameplay and soundtrack are both pretty great, I'd recommend getting it

While XCOM 2's story is intriguing and graphics are appealing, the game's stability leaves much to be desired.

On three occasions the game has failed to start, having randomly either lost or corrupted key files

This is a bit of an annoyance at home, but game-breaking when overseas and without reliable internet access.
