I really love the concept of combining certain elements to create your own spells, it's a shame the game is so short :(((

Early Access Review
Massive P2Win
Bazooka/RPG is OP(why do heatshots when you can oneshot 5 peaple with RPG)
Using blocks doesn't make you better player despite its name BLOCKADE
No Custom Modes/Comunity Servers... We have money for hosting...
Game doesn't support Steam Inventory? Why ?
You can buy premium for one week to make custom maps but you can't share them through Steam Workshop...
Singleplayer mode? Nope.
Daily missions(or something like that)? Nope.

My Experience
I haven't played TF2 for a while but I wanted to try it again, I asked my friend to play with me as well so it would be more fun for both of us. So after work we queued for some games!
I knew about the bot issue, but back in the day it was just catbots on koth_harvest so I didn't really expect what would happen.
My friend said we should just give up after we tried like 7 games and so we did. 😩
WHY? It was the bots.

My original review was:

It couldn't be more true today. Except now it's in a very negative way.

What Even Is the Problem With TF2?
What I think it the main problem is are the bots, I don't really care right now about the cheaters, removing the bots should take higher priority, since good players can still fight them, there's a community based AC that's currently being worked on AND there isn't that many of cheaters to gang up and make it impossible to kick them.
Unlike bots, that are able to kick you! They can even use chat to look like a legit player trying to kick a bot or to spam promotion links OR use voice-chat to play annoying copyrighted music really loud. VALVe, or the contractor they hired (more on that later), has made a shotgun fix that just doesn't let new/F2P players talk/vote or use voice lines.
Not only this is a bad experience for new players, BUT it doesn't really help in cases where the bots actually use premium (not F2P) accounts, which is not a problem for the bot hosts because they make money from it by either using the bots for running promotions OR to "ruin a server as a service " (by flooding it with bots).

VALVe reduced the amount of players on community servers (which also reduced the amount of servers obviously) by removing them from the new matchmaking system in 2018.

Is the Current State of TF2 a BAD PR for VALVe?
It obviously is. But I don't think they have a reason to care since they are a private company.
Which I always believed that it's a good thing, nobody dictates them what they should do even though they have no idea what he is talking about especially compared to Lord Gabe! But if they were publicly traded THIS would obviously be a bad image for them. Other companies folded for less!
However other publicly traded companies would kill TF2 already to shift towards more consumer unfriendly product formats. Just like companies like Ubisoft, EA, Sony and Blizzard did.

Does VALVe Have the Resources to "Fix TF2"?
VALVe is a small company with estimated head count of 360 people and they just have different priorities. HOWEVER they make extreme amounts of money! From what I heard they hired a contractor to do some basic patches anyway, I don't see a reason why wouldn't they hire a bigger team.

What Would I Like to See?
  • Better bot detection system (there is currently none)
  • Permanent bans for "botting", so that the hosts would lose their "premium" accounts
  • Adding back the ability to search community servers using the "matchmaking" system;
it could be in a form of a simple checkbox or something

Update: There was a "banwave", so that should make the game more playable for some time.

Please sign the petition[save.tf] to show VALVe there is a ton of people that still care about the game.
