Not a big mmo player but this game has been super fun and the story is really good. A lot of negative reviews are just sub 2 hours launch players that are comparing this to every game they've ever played. I think for a free game this is really cool its incredible how high of a standard there is to get a positive review but the pros outweigh the cons on this game forsure

This game has had its ups and downs and I’m hopeful for its future. People’s expectations are extremely high for a small dev team.
Ranked balance is an issue as of now. New players get placed in gold but experienced players can barely scratch past platinum so there is a HUGE skill disparity from game to game. You could be against a gold player who easily is skilled as a diamond or a gold player that should have been in bronze.

There is hardly a penalty for leaving games. And the ranked games have auto fill which ruins the integrity of rank. Why should I have to lose a game because an auto fill joined and just scored 3 in a row after I made the previous player rage quit

Ping and latency for some reason got worse after the 1.0 launch. Frequently seeing massive spikes and stuttering for all or some players in a lobby

However I’m hopeful bc this game when it’s running good is so fun addicting and rewarding. It’s a lot more fun with friends so I recommend custom lobbies with a buddy to get the basics down

Hopefully the devs will fix the issues above and keep this game alive

very difficult and frustrating if you try to just jump in and play it without learning the fundamentals.

Coming back years later with a fresh mentality has changed my perspective its a game that really rewards teamwork, game sense, and creativity. It really punishes people who try to play the game without using all the tools available, Not using information and gadgets to your advantage will only make it seem even harder to get kills.

Update: Grinded to emerald and ranked is full of cheaters. 3/5 games blatant game breaking cheats and they are so cocky because the system doesnt punish them quick enough

Bought the game with 0 prior knowledge from a friends recommendation. Very quick to pick up and on my second run i flipped a full house on 5 face down cards. 10/10 would Balatro again

I got this game 12 Hours ago. I have 11.5 hours. it really sucks you in. It takes all the good parts from games you love and also handles a lot of the problems those games had by using the pals. As my friends try to describe this game here is all the titles that have been referenced. Ark, Rust, Destiny, Zelda Botw, elden ring, pokemon, factorio, valheim, monster hunter, minecraft. These are all amazing titles and games everyone knows and loves. For being an early access game it has its flaws but being compared to this many other great games is a sign of more good things to come
