I give this a rating of four out five carrots.

This is "How to Win Friends and Influence People" in a video game format set to the backdrop of Prohibition.

This game is borderline overwhelming in regards to the scale of the game. The tutorial starts in Chicago, which is an impressive map. There's the production chains, making sure there's enough resources to create the goods, and having buyers to deliver the goods to. There's learning new skills, new production chains, creating more lucrative goods, etc.

If that weren't challenging enough, every character has a set of traits along with ethnicity and family relationships that influence how they interact with other characters in the game. You need to gain favors in order to make introductions to other characters, make deals, expand, learn skills, etc. It's crazy. While I would want to create fronts to expand my influence in the neighborhood, I had to decide if extorting money was worth the hit to the relationship as I might need them for favors down the road, or maybe I don't want to get a bad reputation with their family members. When I see that their related to a police officer, maybe I don't want to get on their bad side. Getting heat from the police isn't good for "business".

As others have said in the reviews, it's definitely a slower game. There's not really any action, it's all about managing resources, expanding the business, and social interactions. It's worth learning the keyboard shortcuts to streamline some actions.

It’s been fun. However the other day I saw this new game, V Rising, making its way through the activity feed. I tried not to stare but I couldn’t help myself.

Since then we’ve been spending the past few nights together, having a bloody good time. I think it’s best we forget about each other and go our separate ways… at least until the next update.

I didn't realize how much I missed playing a sexy blood elf paladin.

I've often wondered what a WH40K movie directed by Michael Bay would be like.

Now I know.

On a serious note, this game is both challenging and fun. Being able to abuse both the environment and the physics makes for a lot of fun. Stringing together executions for a killing streak is fantastic!

I might need my dollar back.

Why you might buy this game...

• You're into match 3 games no matter what the theme
  
• You're looking for an easy 100% achievement
  
• You're compelled to buy any game with a cat girl in it
  
• You're into anime girls, changing out costumes, and taking photos (the "Home Mode" is for you)
  
• You mistakenly thought all of those overwhelming positive reviews were real

I may only have 8 hours in the game at the time of the review, but I've watched the entire story plus skits on youtube (16 hours) and really enjoyed it (don't skip the credits!!!). Even with knowing how it ended, I still wanted to get the game and play it myself. It's such a beautiful game and I love the characters.

Would be more of a neutral rating for me but seeing that I have only two options (or no review at all), I'll go with the upvote for encouragement as they do appear to be putting some effort into the game. But don't buy it just because I did and added this recommendation. It simply checked a couple boxes for me that probably aren't even on other people's checklist.

I really like the premise. It's not your typical tower defense game in that your throwing units out on to the battlefield to stop the waves of enemy units assaulting your HQ. Your units are going to destroyed and so you have to keep reinforcing the line. What looked like a solid flank would be decimated minutes later. I like the almost WW2 British Army theme but yet it's not (armored and bicycle units?!).

The game is decent. There's definitely room for improvement, which is expected from being an Early Access title. But even as it is now, it's something I could come back to when I'm bored and want to play a quick tower defense game w/ this theme. I would like to see a bit more variety of units, maybe structures, and/or more power options? Some of the unlocks during a game don't seem advantageous or do anything but maybe there's a lot I don't have unlocked yet. I would love to be able to click on units and see stats. It's early access so I'm sure we'll see continued iteration over the game's features.

Today I learned that people in the Middle Ages didn't give a damn where they left stuff lying about. Just toss stuff up on the roof and see if it sticks. Maybe toss some stuff in the bushes. Whatever works. It's all good.
