It is kind of suspicious that a LOT of positive reviews drop inside of 2-3 days and then back to nothing (Icarus). Thank you for the review

Completely agreed, it happened something kind of similar with Osiris new dawn, or at least i had the same vibes

It's become a cash-grab market for developers, make anything, hype it up, pay for advertising more than developing,
have a discord room full of 'fan-boys' (who will defend a game before it's even remotely finished) and then coast off the sales.

It's all marketing, gimmicks and investor relations nowadays.

Maybe they're doing something different (with voxels?) with Icarus but who can tell, it looks exactly like any other generic survival game.

Anyways, you have the right idea about your review gamers have to become more discerning, gaming has become a joke nowadays and lack of consumer standard is part of that

Just wanted to say (because comments are disabled) that you're going through what a lot of discerning gamers eventually have to realize -

that games nowadays are made for profits (and to push agendas) and actualy quality or 'value' of a game doesn't matter,

devs get _Huge_ amounts of money from private investors, government grants (which is why 'agendas' are seen throughout so much of gaming), kickstarters, patreons etc,

they're absolutely swimming in money (which is why they never reveal any honest truth about how much money they make - if people realized even the dumbest 2d platformer makes 10s of 1000s for a few months work (part-time)) - then people would quickly start having 'standards' -

and this is what your post is showing you seem to be realizing something isn't right about the gaming community in general, and you're quite right.

I saw your review on Icarus because me and a friend were gonna buy it but if the game is in this state then I think I'll hold off but thank you so much dude:steamthumbsup:
