It's the simple fun of the N64 golden era of wrestling games. There isn't tons of depth or technique but that's not what I want - it's just a good time! The roster is weirdly sparse with some really weird omissions but more DLC is coming so we'll see.

What Shovel Knight is to NES games, Freedom Planet is to Genesis games. The game is like Sonic the Hedgehog and every game by Treasure got thrown in a blender with good storytelling and amazing cutscenes with surprisingly impressive voice acting. A friend gifted it to me on my birthday and I'm so glad he did - I'm completely blown away. These characters, this world and the game as a whole have completely captured my old, nostalgia-driven heart.

The best compliment I can give this game is that it's "Nintendo fun." This is solid multiplayer goodness in a way that just doesn't exist anymore.
