Early Access Review
Client needed a password for an employer login, so I found an open port, ran an exploit, obtained root access, changed the password, and gave the new login password of “♥♥♥♥ piss” to my client.

Fantastic game, I will be playing more.

EDIT: I have added cute ASCII cats to my program that probes open ports for buffer overflows.

If a game was received for free, and it's fun, but it uses AI assets and is generally considered to be a half-assed rehash of the previous game, is it worth playing?

And ♥♥♥♥, I mean, I think so, maybe? Like, I really enjoy Ashes of the Damned. I think killing off Takeo, Nikolai, Richtofen, and Dempsey was a huge mistake in Black Ops 4. They were such beloved characters, and I love seeing them back. The map is great, the gameplay is great, and the modern systems can be really enjoyable, especially with the new addition of Cursed mode.

The multiplayer too has reduced SBMM, no more disbanding lobbies, overclocks for field upgrades, lethals, tacticals and scorestreaks that offer additional upgrades, new specialty bonuses, and a really coherent aesthetic that we didn't see in BO6 with all of the cell-shaded fortnite skins. I much prefer BO7's multiplayer to BO6. Every single weapon has an unique attachment that can be unlocked by leveling up the gun which offers ever more customization. Camo grinding is fantastic, with weapon prestige camos offering you the chance to collect every single BO2 customization pack camo for FREE, as well as reduced overall grind for all game modes.

Endgame is very similar to MWZ and DMZ, but does offer a somewhat disappointing experience. It's very similar to games like Far Cry that offer lots of side objectives on an open map. That's pretty much Endgame. Do an objective, level up, get new guns and upgrades, repeat until you level up enough to fight the big world events. And it's fun, but there were so many missed opportunities for flavor and world building in Endgame that are very apparent. The Cradle itself is used as a crutch to shoehorn in reused assets, instead of being a worldbuilding tool. It would've been cool to see Enforcers turn into Fear as you trip out due to the Cradle, or see enemies switch back and forth between being zombies and Guild militia as you lose grip on reality. I do like that Guild bounty hunters will actively try to hunt you down, I found that was a really cool feature and it makes you feel like you're on your toes.

The campaign is god awful, and doesn't not need elaboration. The one good mission is the Hijacked mission where you ram a boat into a building, which is pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cool. Aside from that ONE MISSION, everything else is COMPLETE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

...with that all being said, I just can't, in good faith, recommend sending $70 on this game, and honestly with the use of AI? I can't justify spending ANY money on this game. I question if I should even play this game, but it's hard when the zombies this year around is so damn good.

this game series has no soul anymore. the gameplay is actually really fun, but everything else has been vortex sucked into a vacuum of filler content, collaborations, Mason, or Price.

we went from this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PHQAKOq6kM to "Crimson" and "Black Ops" in BO6.

play exactly 1 game from this client and forget about the rest unless you pick them up cheap on sale. they're all the same and the gameplay is good so you only really need 1 and you're set.

This game is fine but it has no coherent theming. They literally added a wonder weapon from COD zombies into the Multiplayer mode??? The prestige icons are just random ♥♥♥♥ from the other black ops games??? No art direction or world building whatsoever, no attempt at making new characters like Cold War tried, and they’re not even trying to fit in collabs with the art direction of the game (cell-shaded ♥♥♥♥ that sticks out like a sore thumb and anime people). I don’t mind the collabs, I loved Ghostface and John McClane in Cold War but why are we making OPERATORS that are anime style or cell-shaded? I could see John McClane existing in the COD universe but I can’t say the same for any of these dumb American Dad skins.

The gameplay is good, but everything else, like cosmetics and the story, is just a scrambled mess of nostalgia and cash grabs. And personally I don’t regret buying BO6, since I’ve played other treyarch games to death, but I still would recommend against getting it at full price. Maybe pick it up on a sale for cheap. But there’s other better COD games to play before this one.

Cute rabbit game with a lot of FF14 inspiration.

The gameplay actually fills a niche that a lot of game developers haven’t ever focused on, which is “endgame” raiding found in MMOs without the 1k+ hour commitment of reaching said endgame.

The characters all have their own fun ways to play, and combining abilities to increase your DPS through theory crafting is exactly what raiding is all about. Items and ability upgrades you find throughout a run contribute to this further, although some of them demand synergies to be effective that can be difficult to find consistently, forcing you to either completely rely on RNG or only take “safe” item choices. However, this is my only main issue with the game.

Overall, it’s basically just MMO raiding in a rougelite shell. If you like that kind of thing, you’ll love this game.

holy overstimulation.

this game is cheap, simple and easy to understand but also very demanding of your reflexes which becomes immediately rewarded with huge visual flashes and effects that immerse you into the violence.

enemies will explode into gore as you fly across a level beyond your comprehension. guns ♥♥♥♥ in this game and you’ll feel it tickle you right inside your brain. enemies aren’t just PNG images that shoot projectiles every second, you’ll have to think about how to prepare for each one around every corner.
