Driven by a strong and compelling plot, satisfying gameplay, and an unforgetable soundtrack, few games can offer an experience comparable to NieR:Automata. What starts as a decently fun hack and slash game quickly evolves into a gripping rollercoaster of emotions.

It should be noted that this is the first game I've played in this series so my opinions will be reflective of that.

The Good:
- Absolutely amazing story
- Strong main cast
- Beautiful soundtrack
- Satisfying gameplay (combat, progression, gear)
- Open world
- Side quests that provide more meaning that just "do this, do that"
- Multiple endings

The Not so Good:
- 60 fps cap
- Infrequent crashing
- Limited/linear gear upgrades
- 900p, 30 fps cutscenes make transitions especially jarring
- Port is not very well optimized for its technical prowess
- Washed out colour palette (subjective)
- A few shockingly low resolution textures (i.e. the rusted red crate in the resistance camp)
- Hacking becomes repetitve after a while

Despite the existance of a few bugs [which will hopefully be addressed soon] and limitations that hold the game back, the unparalleled experience delivered by NieR:Automata easily outweighs its drawbacks. This is one of the few purchases as of recent that I've felt was worth the full price tag.

Payday 2 started off as one of my favourite coop games. Not only was the gameplay great, content was constantly pushed out extending the game's life. While there was some power creep with each passing DLC, it wasn't to the point of being unacceptable.

Unfortunately, with the recent addition of the Black Market update, it has become unacceptable. Not only is it a direct copy of CS:GO's weapon skins system, weapon stats were also added to the skins. Each drill (key) costs 2/3 as much as a DLC pack which is outrageous considering the amount of DLC they've already pushed out. Yes, I know you can get drills through card drops but it's at such a low chance you might as well pretend they didn't. And as if to pour salt on to the already gaping wound, a weapon rebalance was released that not only broke a whole category of weapons, it was also balanced around the skin stats.

It is really unfortunate that Overkill promised free content during CrimeFest, only to add microtransactions (which they also promised to never implement before). In response to the comminuty outrage, Overkill has done nothing but try to paint themselves as the victims of the fiasco. This goes to show the devs are willing to break promises and are unwilling to listen to the community's feedback. Well I guess money does triumph all.

It's been a fun ride but I can never view Payday 2 in the same light again.
