It's like werewolf with free-roam, map knowledge, and additional "sabotage" mechanic.
Fun little game to play with friends, voice chat with VoIP software is absolutely recommended.

Gameplay are repetitive but each different interaction in the game makes it fun and doesn't get old that quick. Just like what you expect from games with similar concept.

I strongly don't recommend this to people who only wants to go solo/public matches, the game doesn't support voice chat out of the box. Public games are pretty often consisting of random votes, not discussing the matter of interest, cheating (ghost/dead player snitching), and just being plain braindead. Frequently killing the very essence of the game.

You can either host local game (LAN) or create a online lobby that are hosted by the game server with given room codes. Some of the games parameter can be configured easily.
Just keep in mind that their server connection can be pain in the 🍑 sometimes.

But hey.
it's cheap (even free on phone) and cross-platform, pretty accessible. By all means, give it a try 👍

Video previews lags on a simple transition effects. Found out that was due to some bugs between latest build of vegas pro and "newer" GPU/driver. GPU can't be detected by the software thus hardware acceleration on video previews can't be turned on, big disadvantage.

There were only 2 solution offered:
• Try your luck by rolling back both vegas pro and the video driver to a certain older version (300 range or early 400 for nvidia), which isn't ideal at all.
• Buy newer version of vegas pro.

Port is not Good
  • Bad optimization. Don't expect this game to run on a similar performance level as most of their previous titles, even if the stated system requirement of comparison are more or less the same or even better.
  • Some of the graphical and display settings isn't working as intended and it's pretty barebones.
If you don't like to do some manual tinkering outside the game to increase its performance or just to get some of those functionality somewhat working, i wouldn't recommend buying this game here.

Gameplay and Content
  • Most of the contents are visual novel scenes.
  • Plenty of gore/bad end scenes aren't shown, many are interpreted through text with blackscreen. I personally wish they were showing more of those with visuals.
  • Bland level design.
  • Rather fun combat mechanic.
  • OST/songs are pretty good.
  • Nice translation overall.
  • Fine voice acting, both English and Japanese. Though like most of their previous titles, English VA covers only less than a half of what Japanese VA covers.
  • Story and pacing isn't bad with likeable characters.
  • Without rushing my first playthrough, it took me about +30 hours to finish this game on normal difficulty.
  • NG+ is required to get most of the characters ending, took less than 15 hours with a rushed playthrough.

Overall the game has been an enjoyable experience for me, my personal rating is 7/10

Early Access Review
Currently the game only have a gamemode and/or a map. Graphical options are still basics and minimum.
The gameplay still rough around the edges and some adjustment or balancing are still needed here and there.

But, as a former frequent zombie escape player in CS:S.
I'd say that this game's still pretty fun at its current state and i'd like to see it succeed.

Though, i can see that the movement/knockback system can be frustrating for new players that aren't used to figuring out ways to achieve/maintain optimal mobility on certain situations just yet.

-Mediocre story & characters.
-Good soundtrack & fun combat. Structure is similar to trail series. Combat is similar to Ys series.
-It started to get boring near the mid-end of the game. It feels like they're dragging the progress a bit too long, i almost dropped the game.
-Around 50+ hours to finish the first playthrough (including the ex+ content, optional ending, and side-quests).

Overall the game is ok to play but you will find nothing particularly good, perhaps get this game on sale instead.

The gameplay is really good and the classes available in this game are great as well. The classes in this game are Scouts which have great mobility and can shoot at a distance. Shocktroopers carry machine guns and have good armor which are great for close combat. Engineers fix your tank and are the only characters in the game that can revive a fallen ally. Lancers carry armor piercing explosives which can take down tanks. Snipers are pretty self explanatory, they can shoot really well from a distance. Grenadiers which are soldiers that can shoot mortars from a launcher and are a great tool for not only taking down soldiers but if their accuracy is great, they can take down tanks as well.

Although the start-up is a bit slow. The overall story is fun & feels great with strong narrative and memorable cast.

The graphics & art style are good. The game is using comic panel format for dialogue.

Enemy AI is inconsistent, sometimes it can pull off incredible moves and shots, while some other times perform completely pointless moves or randomly running into their death.

My only really big gripe with the game is that with some of the bosses. It felt like they were difficult not because they hard to fight necessarily but because there were times when the damage they were taking didn’t add up. Example being I would have a tank attack a boss and sometimes the damage dealt seems right but when I did the same action the damage taken was not the same. There are also times in the last half of the game when there is a difficulty spike and sometimes it wasn't something I couldn't handle. But, at the other times it felt cheap and impossible to win until retrying the missions for 3 or 4 times.

More or less took me 50 hours to complete the game (including the whole dlc that're available at this time).

8/10

My first Tales game so i have limited expertise on the series, but this game was surprisingly good.

The first hour or so really left me kind of bored and wondering if i made a bad choice, but all of the sudden, BLAM! the game metamorphosed into vehicle for an engaging story that i wanted to keep playing just to find out what happened next.

The fighting mechanics are deep and fun, and you never get bogged down with thousands of side quests you dont really want to do.

The game is not linear but its no open world either. There are defined paths for you to follow between areas and towns. I dont find this to be a detriment, though. Not all games need an open world.

I am a newly made "Tales" fan due to this game. A great story with good mechanics and many cat puns is a solid formula.

Also, have great soundtracks and really good skits.

Worth checking out.
