After finally taking the plunge to move away from Counter strike 1.6 I bought CS:GO, first impressions were that the learning curve compared to 1.6, due to the mechanics and physics totally changing, which meant in turn I had to adjust the way I play, also the physics on the grenades are more realistic but none the less, it was promising, aside the gameplay and the change of physics, the way recoil works is totally different so this is another thing that was an adjustment for myself.

I do however have to commend the work gone into the WATCH feature, allowing players to watch live games and also join in on guessing results for major competitions. The marketplace is a stroke of genius allowing players to have custom weapon skins rather than modded models which only the player can see. Also the Overwatch feature is a bonus allowing the CS:GO community to moderate themselves.

The matchmaking is really good if you are playing competitive within a team of more than 3. otherwise I have noticed you tend to be matched with people with 2 hour accounts just cheating to gain more ranks.

Overall, This is definately a step in the right direction, with more good visuals, gameplay, more to do than just play a competitive game for hours on end. I would happily recommend this game to any of my friends.

quite possibly the number 1 game in my heart after all these long years!
