Early Access Review
I don't usually review games after having only played single-digit hours, but this is cool. I think I backed a game that had a similar premise to this a (LONG) while ago, but can't find the info for the life of me. Being able to play in your own neighborhood is AMAZING. The map isn't 100% accurate - most altitude data isn't reflected, nor are bridges represented accurately. That aside, it's a fun survival game that isn't super punishing if you happen to mess up. I had my people scavenging and quickly filled up storage, and then couldn't get them to harvest the correct items to create a warehouse. It took some time, patience, starving citizens, and some defections, but they all persevered and soldiered on.

There are bugs, but it's early access. I got stuck in a dialog loop where I couldn't respond to a radio conversation. Not a bug, but infected can waltz right through buildings, so don't expect to create a perimeter with existing assets before you adapt them (you should be able to board them up). Minor issues abound, but overall it's fun and unique, worth it!

I played Bard's Tale for the first time on a Commodore 64. I don't remember if I finished it, but I recall playing every day and finding new things in every single playthrough. Then Baldur's Gate, Dragon Age, Oblivion... This game brings me back to that feeling of wonder and amazement of the depth in this entirely fantasy world. The backstory makes the campaign, and they've nailed it. I only wish I had more time to play.
