Insanely well crafted for an NSFW game.

The dungeon crawling rogue-lite minigame alone justifies buying this.

Bland, buggy and uninspired.

Needs Uplay to run. Not a faithful recreation of the classic. Lots of bling, but a bit too late to the party

It's almost hard to believe. 'Prey' is an unshackled and free-er 'Deus Ex' (how such a thing is even possible!), more polished and beautiful 'Dishonored 2' and thematically mimics 'Bioshock' with spices of 'Second Sight'...
but set in space.
Yeah, with zero-g EVAs in a spacesuit.

The game field is enourmous; the ways to solve problems are uncountable, the freedom of player actions is intoxicating. One can completely forgo the story and just... explore. But trust me on this one, let the game hold your hand for the couple of hours -- you'll discover things you never thought to be possible or allowed.

I am writing this rewiev after trying 'Prey' just once: having completed the tutorial (the shock and awe!) I lost myself in the game for 8 hours straight, forgetting the need to eat and sleep. I'll write more when I finish the game.

Whole-heartedly true to the original spirit, this remake of OG Half-Life is perfect for the gamers who's late to the hype. If you're a fan of the series, it's more of the reason to try it.

Won't spoil anything story related but it's DEFINITELY a fully-fledged Half-Life experience, an absolute must for any fan of the series. LOTS of lore bits seeded through the game. Specific dates, detailed maps, lots of eye candy!

Played it on HTC Vive (1.0) with Valve Index Controllers with GTX1060-6Gb, i5-8600 & 32 Gb DDR4 RAM.
The graphics fidelity was set to medium but holy mother of wow, it really does look stunning. The game implements assest streaming, meaning objects near the player and near the center of FOV are more detailed — I've been able to catch it loading a couple of times, but the transition effect is done well and almost unnoticeable.

Although the minimum requirements say Windows 10, don't fret: it runs on Windows 7's SteamVR no problemo.

Since launch I've played for four hours straight and haven't even completed the Chapter 5! I missed a couple of things from Boneworks, namely the ability to grab a fence, then physically vault over my virtual body and the ability to freely use both hands as I like (the dominant hand system feels clunky; what if I want to shoot with the left hand while I search for things with my right?) — but those generally don't detract from the pleasure.

Compared to Boneworks, this game does little to innovate, but it gets so many little things right I'm at loss for words.

I'll be updating the review as I play, but in any case: this game is an absolute must play.

Edit: Now, having completed the game after 13 hours, I have a few bones to pick:

* The couple of pre-final maps are polished less than the first and the last ones.
* Antlions combat is arcade-y, they don't feel like HL2's antlions.
* My GPU struggled on open spaces (video memory issues?) and the models' level of detail had fallen down to keep the FPS stable. Kinda sweet and sour feeling — the game plays well, all the vital details (like the ammo count and health on the gloves, weapon's cross-sight) are sharp; but the textures become blurry.
* Sometimes the game thinks it's lacking memory when in fact it's not — and the model quality suddenly drops. This can be fixed by saving and reloading — everything will look stunning again.
* I managed to get out of bounds several times (HL classic!) by stacking boxes and needed to reload the level :)

Also, currently it is possible to store only full magazines in the backpack. Autoloader and Extended Magazines somewhat alleviate this issue, but I would love to have some way to stuff additional catriges into depleted magazines (ala H3VR) and store non-fully spent mags in wrists. Pretty please?

Overall, it's still an immensely enjoyable experience and a must, especially for VR owners.

Early Access Review
Early Access done right, Supergiant didn't dissappoint. This is theirs magnum opus, if you like Transistor/Bastion, Hades is definitely the game for you. The main gameplay loop is shorter, but oh boy what it is a loop indeed.

There is no escape

Got the Index Knuckles for this one and hasn't been disappointed one bit. I'm a pretty experienced VR guy, but I feel the need to take breaks once per hour or two.
This game is too meta for me, spent an hour just exploring the tutorial section. It was fun!
The most memorable experience was trying to get on a ledge with jumping and simultaneously crawling; that resultred in hitting my chandelier in Real Life.
Inventory and movement systems are really good and well-though out, guns are simplified but enjoyable.

Funny thing, I am getting some trippy moments now: hands feel weird, feels like fingers are automatically moving themselves without having to press anything.

The experience is solid, but you really need decent VR legs and some acclimation.
