Century: Age of Ashes is a very fun game that I do enjoy playing. However, that doesn't mean I don't have issues with how the game plays or even just the game itself. A few things that new players should know when coming into the game are:

- The game is very new player unfriendly. Once you get past the beginners matchmaking (which I am unsure if they even still have), you start getting launched into games with seasoned veterans and competitive players, which can make getting ahold of the controls and learning how to play extremely difficult - even with the help of the tutorials.
- A lot of the game's lore, if that interests you, is hidden in the Dragon Pass. It is all written in giant paragraphs, which there are around 9-10 to go through to figure out the lore from each season. Which, every season has their own sections with lore, so that's around 30 separate sections of walls of text to read to learn the game's story. There is no story mode.
- Obtaining new dragons and cosmetics is extremely difficult. You have to grind out the game, and even then, when playing against extremely skilled and already knowledgeable players, is difficult. You need to save up around 15000 coins to buy even one cosmetic, which on a good match, you earn about 1000. Some skins and dragons are completely locked behind a pay wall, because a consistent income of gems is possible - however difficult without the Dragon pass.
- The Dragon pass only allows you to get 4 items from each tier. You cannot get any more. The others are locked behind the Premium pass, which you need to purchase.
- There are so many microtransactions. It's not even funny. Some skills, though not necessary, are also required to be bought - at least with in-game currency.
- Check the discussions page, there are a ton of bugs with the game that should be noted.

All of that being said, it's still a very fun game if you can get a hang of the controls and get into good matches. It can be easy to rage, however, it's a fun game with an intriguing concept. Plus, there's dragons. Who doesn't love dragons? It has a ton of issues, but either way, you can come to love the game if you let yourself. The gameplay is fun, flying around is fun and I've been told it feels like ice physics but in every dimension which I'm hearing isn't super fun, but it makes sense because.. Y'know. You're flying on a giant lizard. It's a flawed game but it's still pretty fun, give it a try and if you don't like it you can always uninstall - it is free after all.
