Maybe Garfield thinks his job is being a cat and Mondays give him some sort of existential dread, having to put back on the cat skin which he so gleefully tossed aside? Perhaps there's something even more sinister at play, something that's been buzzing around the back of mind for a while now, but I've been too fearful to acknowledge it.
Maybe cats invented the days of the week. Maybe Monday was a cursed creation by felines. I mean sure they'd also get credit for creating Fridays and Saturdays which are objectively bangers but lord, knowing that you were responsible for the most-hated day of the week really has to weigh on a guy
