my sister and i got this game reallly on sale several years ago, and it has become one of my favorite games to noodle around with since :3 its a really cool little project that i'm glad we get to peek in on and engage with, i find the flying really relaxing and super fun, once you can get ahold of the controls and physics!

I'm really pleased with how the game has developed since I got it :] when I got the game it was good! You had the ability to fly around a smaller island (I think, if i remember correctly) and change into other animals and... not muuuch else if i remember right? Since then it seems like there have been additions and changes to the maps and environments (I *really* Like the wind, and I think with the most recent update it *also* got even better feeling!) and the way the animal controls [perhaps just me getting used to it but i Also think it might have changed] got a lot easier and smoother to me :3!

it fills me with hope to see Any updates on this :] It was fine when i got it and through continuous tweaking of their project, the developer made it into one of my favorite little experiences [especially if ur stoned!]

I recommend this if youre looking for something relaxing and kind of almost stim-toy-esque? There aren't goals or things to motivate you to Do Stuff in the game except your own sense of exploration and fun :3 but i like that about it. i find it really relaxing

It is so painful that I had started following this game and put it in my wishlist around when it was first announced... and when AI art didnt exist, and in the meantime they made a game that uses AI art. I don't care that its derivative, it never claimed to be anything else. I just cannot recommend supporting any business that actively works to put people like me out of a job. Sorry.

man okay!! I left a review on juicefx recommending it, hoping it would continue to develop... and then i remembered I had already purchased this program and had barely poked at it. I gave it an honest try, trying to learn and make something interesting in it and Oh My God i love this program SO MUCH!!!! Juicefx is still Excellent for when I need to make a bunch of quick gifs (like i said, i use it a lot for making forum sprites) but this program makes making bigger animated scenes a BREEZE (relative to the effort youd have to put in otherwise) and its been so much fun learning how to use the program! I am so grateful it exists and is shared and I can use it!

The same as all specialized programs, if youre probably wondering if this will save you time animating and youre already down the path of sprites / pixel art / etc. Probably Yes!

Good news - it exports gifs now :)
while I still hope there are a few touches up done to the UI at least in updates and certainly wouldnt protest anything more being added, this program i would say is fully functional for what it claims to do! It speeds up the process of making some of these animations that u COULD otherwise do by hand, but... it would take forever lol! With using lots of layers you can create some really neat effects and scenes, I use it for making forum sprites right now! I would say, especially on sale, if you like to pixel even a little, youll probably get at least one useful effect out of this :]

this game is like cocomelon for 2000s kids stoners

i really really love what the devs did, they did just enough work to breathe new life into this game but pulled back from changing too much :] it feels like an upgrade, and I LOVE the food truck mode! it feels like this honors the original and also adds to it enough to justify buying it! i really do selfishly hope theyll bring back some of the other papas games like this, its super fun and the right amount of engaging and difficult. joy :}

I was one of the many people who was invested in this game early, from the start. I thought it was fun in its alpha, I enjoyed the community, I loved the progression, and i loved the style and open world feel of it. The progression is ruined, even with mods I find it hard to get the same spark this game once offered. It quickly gets boring and empty, and its a shame, since it had so much going for it at the start.

a completely tone deaf decision was made that will alienate a good chunk of the audience / render the game unplayable for many individuals. huge huge oversight by whoever made these decisions and I hope you hear us and change course immediately.
Game was fun, wouldve been great, but EAC is an awesome way to make sure you destroy community trust.

Fun silly game without any p2w stuff :] what more do u need! A bit buggy, but thats to be expected from beta I think. Combat doesn't feel unbalanced, and even when I lose I'm not really frustrated, just a fun fighting game with shaggy!

Normally I have a problem with spending $20 on a game, so I was incredibly hesitant to buy it. I'm glad I chose to in the end.

1. The graphics.
I am always a sucker for underwater, and the first thing that stunned me right as I got into the game is the amazing graphics, and I was still in the Safe Shallows part. The amazingly detailed designs of all of the creatures, and every little deatail on the map is just astonishing. Even if I wasnt interested in survival games, I would keep this just to look around at everything.

2. The sounds.
Okay first of all, being able to hear something before you see it is terrifying
But other than being scared out of my skin, I really loved all of the sounds. The Reefback scared me at first, like any sane person probably would have been, but now whenever I hear its unique sound I always trace it back to the Reefback. I also love the sound of Jellyrays. The Gasopods are really noisy, but they are awesome too.

3. The Creatures in general.
The creature designs just seem so unique to anything I have seen, I'm glad that the developers chose to make this game on an alien planet, so now the possiblities are limitless. Or at least pretty close

The creatures range from super cute to astonishingly beautiful to f***ing terrifying. Cute ones like, Eyeye, Oculus, Rabbitray, and even the Gasopod. Beautiful ones like, Jellyray, Mesmer, and practically any fish that glows. Glowing is pretty. Scary ones like Boneshark, Reefback, Reaper, Emperor Leviathan, Sandshark, really, just about anything that is aggressive too.

3. The gameplay.

The gameplay is kind of minimum at the beginning, but that's okay. It is sort of difficult and can be a tiny bit slow at the beginning, but It gets sort of difficult once you want to build your cyclops mostly due to the lithium that you have to get, which is like 160+ meters deep. Once you get to building things its really cool, and with the amazing scenery I like to choose the coolest spots to build places.

4. It can get really scary really fast
Like I said before, hearing something before you see it is really scary. Especially when its a new, really loud sound. Even when no danger is present, I can get scared. Example, the first time I heard a Reefback. It sounded like a deep whale sound, and it sounded big and scary. At first I sped in the opposite direction as quickly as I could, but my sister encouraged me to go towards it. I told her she was crazy. Eventually she got me to go that direction and now its not as scary. Now when you hear tiger-like roars, thats a pretty sure sign of danger. And when the Sandsharks jump out of the ground at you, even sometimes when you are in the dark and just hear an unknown sound. Every time I saw a new creature I had to ask myself "Is that dangerous??" Because if I assumed it was, like I stupidly assumed with the Stalkers and Bonesharks, I would become fish food.

And Reapers are pretty obviously scary. You can hear its roar from like a mile away and then there is a giant snake thing swimming towards you. It's not killable yet, but I think it will be in the future. And I love the Emperor Leviathan that they are planning on adding!

But I like that its not a constant feeling of fear, so that I can actually enjoy the gameplay some, which is why I don't like horror games. I am a total wuss, and if you are like me you are scared really easily. I like this game because it can give me a scare from time to time but im not constantly worrying about my face being chomped off.

5. Floaters
Floaters get their own catagory. You can float a giant Reefback with one floater. You can break a ship with one floater. You can make a rock covered in floaters. Floaters are awesome.

Seriously though, I don't like how I have to restart my game when a floater accidentally touches my ship and breaks it. I think I can safely assume this will be fixed in the future, but for now, keep floaters away from anything you don't want broken. Especially your escape pod and seamoth.

So in all, is it worth $20? Yes, I think it is.

I think it would be cool once you finish the singleplayer to make it so we could open a LAN or something. Really I don't have a whole lot of problems with this game, my computer lags but thats because its a piece of crud.

I can't wait to see what the finished product is like

Okay, A long time ago I played this game. Being an easily amused and patient child I enjoyed it, but when I came back to it, I realized how stupid it really is.

First of all, I like to be able to customize my character. A lot. In this game it has a very limited amount of customization, and with the amout of money I had in the game I could only afford one mask. Bullcrap.

The second thing I dislike about this is farming. I hate farming. In many other games I love farming, but here I just hate it. Not because I'm impatient, but because its boring and results in almost no benifit to me. Fishing was okay though. And growing animals. I don't like growing animals in this game.

I don't like how you have to be a member for getting certain dragons. Getting another dragon maybe, but limited starting choices bugs me.

I have a great computer, and it still takes 30 minutes to load. I am pretty sure it should be called "The Screen of Tediousness" Loading screen is just too much of a title to live up to.

Not to mention the chat rules. There are several words that I couldn't say, even though I saw NO WAY they could have been offensive! I like to chat with people and be able to say things like "potato" at the same time! What could be offensive about potato? Are you offended by its skin?

The dragons take ages to grow, and you cant do much with a baby dragon. If you dont have a dragon that is old enough, then you have to use toothless for most minigames that involve a dragon.

this is very clearly a childs game. It really doesn't appeal to me, or even my 9 year old sister at all, because it is very clearly a childs game .

I do like that the devs are updating and adding new things, but please, before you add new things work out the problems with the existing things first !

The graphics could be worse, but they certainly are not up to todays standards. I like the visuals of Minecraft better than this. And the visuals of Minecraft kind of suck.

The quests are monotonous and boring as hell. Talk to this guy, get a rock from this guy, talk to this guy, go back to this guy, gather these seven things from here. Its really the same thing over again, with nothing to amuse you for long, unless you really, really, like walking back and forth and talking to the same people 50 times.

The quest arrow doesn't know what its doing with its life. I seriously spend like 15 minutes walking in circles because the quest arrow was being a scrub. The quests are horrible enough with out it, and now it just added like 15 minutes of pointless walking to them. The quests might actually be easier without it, or make it one of those quest lines, I don't care, just fix it

I do like how you sort of replicated the Island of Berk, even if it might not have been done awesomely.

Everything is so freaking slow. Oh the fastest dragon in the game? Yeah this baby goes a total of 6 miles and hour. I know, so fast. Im not talking about the gameplay, which is very slow, im talking about you and your dragon. When I rode my dragon I want to go breakneck speed, or even like 15 mph, but instead I got the speed of a great grandmother sloth. I like to go really fast, so I am used to not getting quite what I want, but this was really a letdown.

The minigames, are just boring. Fishing is sort of fine, but the games like flying and the shooting games are not... They are just not fun.

This is a good concept, but the execution is not done well. It could have been done way better, but now this game is just so deep in a hole of failure, I don't think it can be redeemed.

So to wrap this up I'll say the one thing I did like about this game.
Dragons. I like dragons. Or rather I did. Until now.
