As much as I hate to give this game a bad review, I can't give it a good one.
Changed from a bad review to a good one after killing the 1st and 2nd nightlord. The game opens up a lot more. It has it's issues, but I think a lot of them are fixable. The solo experience isn't the best, but grab 2 friends and it can be a really fun experience.


Pros:
- Wall jump
- Nightlord bosses are fun
- Loot system is good
- Classes feel different enough to be worth it
- Rotating bosses
- Changing world events

Cons:
- Battle Royale ring (seriously who came up with this it's absolute garbage, moves at the speed of sound and ruins the entire experience)
- The lock-on mechanic is very unresponsive
- Only fun in multiplayer WITH friends that you can communicate with
- No randomised enemy spawns
- Locked FPS
- Revive mechanic is clunky af
- A lot of the character abilities are super underwhelming

fantastic game, first in the series i have thoroughly enjoyed since origins.

fans (me) have been waiting for an assassin's creed in a japanese setting for years, but i'm glad it took until now that we got one. the game looks stunning, the world is beautiful and the amount of details is widely exceeding (my) expectations of a ubisoft game these days.

it runs.. barely. i have some outdated but powerful hardware, but the game won't reach anything above 45 fps without frame generation turned on. with fsr i get around 60-80, and while in this game i haven't noticed any weird anomalies or jitter when playing, i really hope that fsr won't start to be the norm over properly optimizing your AAA game.

microtransactions, monetization, yada yada yada, it's still awful and kinda annoying but you can just ignore it and enjoy the game.

it's good. if you're a fan of the series and have been waiting for this kind of era and setting, get it!

Super short, but extremely emotional.
Managed to make me cry twice.
I got attached to the characters so quickly and the writing, artstyle, background music and overall setting and atmosphere of the game are beautiful.

I'd 100% recommend this game.
