Sorry, this game has no native controller support and that while it is in active development with a new DLC while the game is just eagerly screaming for it.

Players are now down to broken community implementations. If it were abandoned in development, it would be one thing, but wanting to sell DLC and still not updating the controller possibilities with the steamdeck in the world? Simply unforgivable.

I have played two long saves now, and both ended with gamebreaking bugs. In the first run, I could suddenly not make any new fleets, as the ship menu was empty, even though all of my officers were in my base.

The second run I came as far as the Chimera boss. In no circumstance it would trigger. I am done with this game now. 2/2 saves breaking is just too much.

Early Access Review
I love rimworld. Even for being Early Access, in this case it doesn't mean the game is buggy, but could just use a few added features; which are easily added or supported at the moment with the incredible mod support in the workshop.

RimWorld is the perfect balance between deep like dwarf fortress, but still usable in terms of UI and options. The UI notably is a lot like Prison Architect, and it is not a bad thing. It definitely serves its purpose.

If there is anything I'd like more, it would be more handles for support in terms of mods and custom games. Let's say I'd like to play a scenario that is Star Wars themed; I'd like with that scenario to be included that it would be possible to have a set of characters with the famous names, maybe a visual themepack and custom occurences using the assets in the game.
Update: Added in Alpha 17 with some modpacks that allow this.

As well as maybe more "gameplay" ways. Like it would be possible to send my troops offmap, and load in a new map where I'd actually be raiding other nearby tribes in real time. Maybe a way to infiltrate as a sole pawn in an existing tribe and working my way up in more of an RPG perspective of things where the AI handles the colony. (I'm pretty sure looking at the manager mod could help in creating an AI).
Update: ALSO ADDED IN ALPHA 17, WTF :o. Well mostly in talks about raiding other maps. The pseudo-nemesis shadow-of-mordor idea hasn't been (yet?!) implemented.

Though these are mere suggestions. For as the game goes, it's one of the only games on Steam I bought at full price, without regrets. Certainly the best game ever from Early Access.

Update: B18, come on, please just add in the Psychology mod natively. It's wayyyy too hard to get two gay characters to marry like this.

Multiplayer is dead. Bought this during the summer sale, and there were 3 games ongoing. For a game that is multiplayer-focussed, I can't recommend it anymore. There are a few singleplayer challenges, but they are mostly fluff. (Shame, as the game is fun though!)

There is no single reason to play this game. This game seems more concerned with milking money from you than delivering a game that can compete among its peers of card games.

Bugridden. I boosted my way into a puzzle, but not from the entrance. (Suddenly a wall didn't have collision). Now I'm stuck in this "dead puzzle" where the triggers don't activate.

This game walks the path of the assymmetric pvp-style games; One team is human, the other dinosaur. Think; Left 4 Dead 2 and Natural Selection 2.

It definately lacks the class synergy L4D2 offers (although it is existant, not utlized), it's an all-for-himself kind of thing. Little to no communication as I've experienced, and what is being said is just utter spam. Given, that is the community, not the game itself.
The maps are open areas and are not even touching the aformentioned games in detail, balance and thought. Classes are unbalanced, and humans stand no chance to dinosaurs.

I was coming from Natural Selection 2, and expected an -ish game like that. Boy, what have I learned that same genre does not mean same quality. It's definately not worth your time to even look into this game.

Given; the human classes are diverse, which makes it fun. Really like the trapper, with the webgun for example.

It's not much use...You can't really progress in the game co-op together. There are just some bad racing games and derby rounds, which is done better in games designed to do them. Collision detection is so off, and there is very little use in playing this.

If you like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around, it's better ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around in garry's mod or minecraft.
