Okay, so 'm going to preface this review by stating that this was the first adventure game I've ever played. I'm usually more of an Action or RPG gamer, so it was a novel experience.

As or the game itself: There isn't actually much of a game there, to be honest. The gameplay is limited to searching small areas for interaction spots, and lots of QTEs. It feels like you spend almost more time in dialogues and cutscenes than actually playing. The only actualy riddle I can remember off the top of my head happens in Chapter 2 and involves a retina scanner. It is very simple, but thoroughly entertaining due to the dialogue occuring throughout, so I don't want to spoil anything.

That brings me to the next point of this review: the story. The writing, storytelling, and dialogues are fantastic! After reading a few reviews, this seems to be the strong suit of Telltale Games, and boy did they deliver with Tales from the Borderlands. I don't think I've ever laughed this much while playing a game, and even though I wasn't 'playing' much per se, I was thoroughly entertained.

So, is this game for you? If you want to experience a good story with fantastic writing, believable and likeable characters, and an at times very dark humour; and aren't put offby the minimal amount of actual gameplay to be had, go for it! It is well worth the 25 bucks it costs regularly, and if you can wait for a sale, even better.
If the story is secondary for you and you want gripping action and tense gameplay, then you should definitely steer clear of this game. Even though I used to think the same, and I certainly don't regre buying this game. If you're unsure, wait for a sale.
