Early Access Review
Chill MMO with some unique mechanics. It still has a lot of development to go before v1.0, but the devs update frequently and pay attention to what the community wants. The game is quite similar in dialog, humor, gameplay, and graphics to Runescape. If you don't like the RS subgenre of MMO, then you probably won't like Brighter Shores.

You can do passive activities which keep going for up to 24 hours after logging out. I like to think of this game as an idle/incremental MMO more than anything. In that case, it's easily one of the best idle games around. If you don't mind the whole game being a grind and the fact it is early access, then you may have a lot of fun with this game.

ok so this is a very good game for what it is, but one thing. I left it on for like 80 hours and was never given a banana?

THIS GAME IS A ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ JOKE FOR STEAM USERS !!!

The game literally has buttons that don't work. You click and nothing happens. No indications given for PC users. Don't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ port it to Steam when you can't figure out the most basic of functionality for your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ overly complicated ♥♥♥♥ heap. Honestly devs, way to go; tremendous job monkeys. Thanks for wasting all of our time. VR pandering vampires. can't wait to see this ♥♥♥♥ heap shut down in a few years. Honestly devs and the publisher ("The Stars Group Inc."), Keep yourselves safe.

Have you ever wanted to play Chess? But first... you have to play a first person adventure rpg first! Deliver Oak's parcel before you can play the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game that is the game you are playing. Like what?

How...like how do you mess up poker POKER? Greedy, no soul having peasants like these morons. Just play the main Poker Stars app instead. All of you VR apologist d riders can suck it.

It's really astounding how they can manage to mess up MONOPOLY this badly. Ubisoft is cringe. Trash netcode, lunatic design decisions, just wow. Play this if you hate yourself and your friends.

One of the best idle games. If you like the progression of Runescape but distilled into a pure idle game, then this is for you.

The combat is deep enough to be interesting.

Most of the skills are fun. They have you wanting to keep collecting resources past level 99.

It's a good game. Maybe even great. Not amazing.

Vintage Behemoth style and charm. If you liked it before, you still will with this.

Turn-based strategy on a hex map that emphasizes positioning, thoughtful planning, and build creation. The game definitely has a theory crafting element to the build creation; this adds to the play time and enjoyment a lot.

Fun little overworld with decent replayability, but... it can get old.

Simple enough mechanics to not be intimidating, yet it contains adequate unlocks, depth, and complexity to last for quite a while imo. The diversity of unit types is pretty good and interesting. Ofc some are better than others, but each one has its purpose on the right team. The different types synergize well, and keep things interesting with the resistances, strengths, and powerful connections between certain unit types. For example, a classic powerful build is 2 x Kobold, 2 x Pixie, 2 x Vampiress. That is a synergized glass cannon, squishy but deadly sort of team setup. If you plan to get the game or already have it, try that out.

There is challenge to the single player, but it is rarely too burdensome. It is enough that you usually need to think and play strategically, but it won't destroy you mercilessly if you make errors. If a mission is destroying you, your team build itself is likely the main issue.

The party system and characters of different classes, that can use many different gear setups, have a simple, addictive charm. A bit reminiscent of Pokemon collecting/leveling/battling.

The autobattler is quite nice for afking, if you're into that sort of thing. It is certainly suboptimal to knowledgeable, active human play (as it should be), but the AI performs well enough to make it worth using. You can even manually add target priorities.

Co-op adds a lot of fun and strategy to the story/questing/overworld/arena combat.

Overall I would say 7.9/10
