This may well become your main 'go-to-game'. It will take a little while to get used to it. Flying in the air with a car... to hit a ball in a specific direction... is not an easy thing to do. No other game ever made, will prepare you for this.

You will find yourself hating this game at times. Hating the matchmaking. Hating your own lack of skill. Hating other peoples lack of skill (helping you lose 10 matches in a row). Etc. Etc.

But that is only because the game is so good. If it wasn't, we wouldn't care. Unfortunately, we ruin this game for ourselves. We play with higher players, lower players, on other accounts (I don't), while drunk, while tired, while.... well who knows, right?

And that leads to some unbalanced games. The trick is, to concentrate on each moment you're in and better your own skill and game intelligence (what you choose to do in each situation..positioning, etc). Spending less time on worrying about the individual games' outcome. Then advancement will sort itself out.

This will allow you to play more relaxed and playing Rocket League in a relaxed state, is the best way to play. More fun will be had and more wins too. Weird that, huh?

Grab this game on sale and stick with it for 3 months. Playing regularly. There is a good chance that you'll fall in love with it. Then always have something to play, for as long as Rocket League exists.

There is no need to buy any add-ons or items of any kind. No pay to win here. It's all skill based...with a little luck ;)
Some items are cool, some cars are too. You may grab something down the line. Even for free. 'Keys' named 'Decryptors' are given away in events. If you get lucky, you'll get something awesome. I have gotten a couple of cars and some expensive wheels. Crates opened with Decryptors, yield items that can't be sold though. (Some things are changing for this section)

So in conclusion: Rocket League is underpriced, can be addictive, will be fun and will stand the test of time for you.
I also have hundreds of hours in the PS4 version. I have to recommend this.

Just played for a bit. It looks pretty good and feels good. It reminds me of A Link to the Past.

But... I used the Lightening attack... and the game closed itself. So loss of progress and stuff collected occurs.

That kind of thing annoys. I hope the actual game doesn't have this problem because it would definitely ruin it.

This is a pretty fun game. Each level is like a puzzle, that needs to be figured out. What I mean by that is: if you figure out the best approach, you'll find it easier to survive.

So if you're finding some area hard, maybe adjust your approach to it. That type of gameplay, also makes it not frustrating in the least.

There are some really good design decisions here. The Roll is especially good. I-Frames and totally controllable length.

And the Controller support is superb. Choose your poisen in the options, by picking the input you have (only if Automatic doesn't work that is). Complete with a picture of an X-Box, PS4 or Keyboard; just in-case you can't read too well. jk.

The only thing I'm missing is some bosses. I haven't come across any.

The price is nutz though. 1.5 hours and I'm just under half way through, it seems like.
And I'm pretty good at these types of games so it may be longer for you to figure out.

Yep. It's underpriced.

So overall. This game is a steal. If you like Spelunky or similar, you should definitely like this.

Dang, this was good.

It will not be what you expect it to be. You will definitely enjoy this one.

Use your intelligence and think outside the box and you'll have a great time.

The game is not over, until you see actual Credits on screen... remember this.

And take the warning you see on startup seriously. Very seriously.

Well, that was an... interesting experience.

Make sure you have a couple of hours to finish this Demo. I don't think it saves during.

I've never played one of these before; it's pretty funny though.

Don't waste your time with this. Smart idea poorly implimented.

Bad platforming, with no climb edges, creates a point unpassable without better mechanics or unbelievable skill.

See my time played? That's where the impossible bit is. The game isn't fun enough to spend 20 mins trying to jump left, past an overhang, then right to hit the edge of a platform you can't climb; resulting in you bouncing off it back to the ground. You then jump up 3 platforms to get back there, just to repeat...

...And that's if you even jump from the edge of a platform... That collision is badly done too.

This game has now integrated itself into my favourite games ever list.

The definitive edition is better optimised than the original and even my Radeon HD 5670, plays it at around 60fps.

It can be played with a PS4 controller, with a quick change to a text file the game creates at first start-up.

It's a beautiful and deadly world to explore. Bear in mind there are a few sections that require practice to beat but if you relax and don't get mad you'll be fine.

Gameplay feels great. Movement, in general, is tight. There are RPG type upgrades and new Skills to find and master.

Add to that the great Ori character and lovely story; and you have yourself a gem.

It was worth every penny. I hope you enjoy it this much too. :)
