Alan Wake is a 3rd person psychological action thriller. The game is set in an beautiful and mistical small town called ''The Bright Falls'' and its surroundings. Alan Wake, the game's protagonist, is a bestselling writer, who writes a novel about his darkest nightmares.

Alan Wake is essentially a television series/show, at least in the way the game is delivered, into the six episodes. Apart from the opening episode, Nightmare, each starts off with a summary, delivered in a tightly-paced series of cut scenes, of what's happened leading up to the episode you are about to play.

Gameplay it self is based on mix surviving/shooting/running that makes this game even more unique than the other classic 3rd person shooters.

Game is made by Remedy Entertainment creators of the Max Payne.
