I have played on PS2 version, my positive points: QoL update "Definitive Edition" modernize gameplay & graphics.

The keyword/highlight they're selling here is "nostalgic", with price is questionable, sale price is OK.

Bad is, the contents is still same, then worsen by "agenda" added, but this is my review, maybe can difference with yours.

Conclusion, its OK, not good, not bad.

Story is OK, still related to Mafia conflicts, its has "altered history" for background setting back then.
The game play is... I like the open world, this is what I wanted for Mafia I & II.
Unfortunately, their action is miss for me, its empty, repetitive mission, less activities (only Collectibles).
Shooting, well, with DLC included, you can beat this game easily with silencer weap. Easy mode for sure haha, I'm not interest playing higher diff.

I suggest to buy it on sale.

Story main line is longer 2x than previous titles, some part feels dragging / filler IMO.

Been try Early Access version on Xbox Gamepass, and now major 1.0 version, cant say its full release.
Developer also publish their 2024 plan, and I can say that is the more "full release" / "1.0" I can hope for.

We need money, plan, and faith.

If you like Musou genre and Warriors Series, then I recommend you this.

UI/UX is so bad for me personally:
- Controller support, you need to manual bind and remember the function itself.
- Icon for action is represent keyboard or action (this is bad, if you don't understand what action is)
- There are inconsistent of translation, definition can be very ambiguous.

For gameplay, it can be pretty grindy at some time, like you want to collect all 6 star weapons.

But again, because I like the first point, I recommend it.
