This reminds me of when Grounded first launched. The systems are largely in place, and pretty well polished. You can see where the "more to come" is and it's exciting to see this game get the reception it's gotten.

This game is a survival builder with all of the old systems you've seen. Farm materials, use tools and weapons to slay creatures for supplies, and construct buildings/appliances/etc. to make your life easier. The nice part is this game does well to avoid the typical grind you run into with alot of survival builders (grounded and valheim come to mind) by having the pal system. Pal's are monsters you can kill, catch, and put to work for you to help with upkeep. They build, gather, mine, log, you name it. They can be self sustaining when managed right or they can become sick, hurt, depressed, etc. requiring further care.

The combat system is reminiscent of ARK, with FPS based combat and Pal's battling along side you. The Pals can be used as mounts, or even weapons themselves. Several pal's can wield guns, bows, etc. You can also wield weapons you craft. There are pal's you can wield as weapons, but outside of that your pal operates similarly to that of a pet in world of warcraft. You set it to attack, it has abilities you can use from time to time, then they'll get in the way of your shot and aggro the entire room for no particular reason. It could use some polishing especially in the pal interaction side of things as the action button to use an ability with your pal typically is positioning dependent, by that I mean you usually have to wait for your pal to run over to you while not running from the incredibly dangerous boss you may be fighting. That said the weapons usually feel good to use, and when you're using the pal's ability, it usually feels good too.

The Pals feel pretty original and creative. It's fun to discover the entire pal-deck, I can't speak to the longevity the game will have after that but we all know, there can always be more pals.

I'd say it's easy to play about 40 or more hours on this in the current state of the game, worth the 30 bucks for me. Can't wait to see what pocket pair adds to this game over it's development.

A fun little game. Falls into the same trap that every Battle Royale game falls into in that its not gonna explain the rules or how to kill or what does what very well. They at least include a "heres some items to check out" spot in the waiting room that can give you various ideas as to what does what, but seeing it out on the "battle field" is a whole different animal. The music is great, the art is great, the humor is fun. I doubt I'll sink much time into this but I imagine there are plenty of people who will. Still for the low low price of free, worth checking out for a couple hours.

Saints Row 3 is the first saints row I've played. The games playstyle is smoothe, and feels natural. This game is so rich with content that you can spend hours doing "side stuff" and not be bored by it, while still progressing your character, and indeed your cause. As far as the story goes it starts off pretty absurd, but funny. It sets the tone well for the game in the sense that things get bad, then they get worse, then it gets insane. In a semi open world it can be very difficult to establish a continual flow to the content but Saints Row 3 accomplishes this with remarkable zeal. There are of course plenty of serious moments, but its so well thought out that it gives you the punch line just in time to really set the current mission off. The character creation allows for you to be very specific, you are able to buy many different kinds of clothes in the game, and of course in saints row fashion it you can look as silly or serious as you want. I would reccomend this game to anyone that enjoys 3rd person shooters, crime relate games, open world games, or if you enjoy over the top action packed humor.
I would not reccomend this game if your name is pierce. Cause seriously, F pierce.
