Heard little about this game, decided to buy it on sale, played with friend through the friends pass. We didn't watch any of the trailers before playing and we are glad we did the huge variety of scenery and mechanics astounded us constantly.

We found the puzzles aspect very smooth, both my friend and I are decently versed in puzzles, so we sight-read nearly every puzzle instantly. But this game isn't about the puzzles, its not meant to be a challenge. We found more enjoyment through the shear theatrics and set pieces of it all, Which the game slowly moves to more theatrics in the later half.

My friend's favorite area mechanic was the match gun. Id say my favorite was the plant ability as it was the most heavily diverse ability.

The game does a great job of asymmetric balance of both the abilities and the focus. There was only a single ability that was even remotely symmetric. But even with such differing abilities, the puzzles don't shove the same player over and over into a controller role of a puzzle.

Very nice progression of story, excellent progression from constant bickering to occasional compliments.
Many many, popular game references, but never shoehorned in - always a secret or theatrical humor.
Very well polished, id consider us fairly nosy set of players and we only found a single stuck spot in the whole game.

We both consider the human cut scenes a bit too close to uncanny valley, but literally everything else was fantastic.
Probably not much replay-ability, but still well worth the $40.
