It took me 80 hours to beat it the first time (with DLC). I collected every item I could and farmed souls to level up.

Then I tried to beat it without leveling up at all and without changing my starting gear. It only took me 20 hours (no DLC). And it was more enjoyable because I had to learn the movements of the bosses instead of grinding.

So yeah, this game is not even that hard. Try not to focus on leveling up.

The best game, seriously:

• You can choose your difficulty level, master mode is quite challenging
  
• Fun to play with a friend or alone
  
• There are 4 classes and none of them suck
  
• You can have visual-only clothes on top of your main armor and even paint it
  
• There is real progression that requires a change in playstyle
  
• It's interesting to explore the world
  
• There are always clear objectives (bosses to kill, resources to get, equipment to craft) up until you defeat the final boss
