If you like smashing monsters heads over and over with a giant boulder attached to a stick while they writhe on the ground helplessly crying then I've got the game for you!

Wow, this game. Yeesh. I love Blazkowicz. He's a great character. And the story is pretty solid with a lot of touching well written moments, at least for a story like this one, but God they forgot to design an actual game with interesting things to do.

So many levels feel interchangeable, uninspired. And short, too. A warehouse, a sewer, a destroyed city, another destroyed city, a space station, and basically that's it. The gun play is great, but man, New Order had so many great levels and set pieces, or at least far more.

Maybe it's a result of playing this right after CoD4: MW. Which was just non stop ingenious level design and variety. So I think it's a fair criticism because that game came out about 8 years before this one did!

You might not be able to stop Corona but you sure as hell can stop these demons. By shooting it in the face!

Once I got into a groove of gathering mats/weapons/quests, the game started to click for me. It sucks that the campaign is buried because it's nice to have context to the action, (and it's actually not too bad as far as story is concerned) but overall, it's not a big deal as there are other systems in place to get you on the path of the loot grind, which is honestly the only reason most people will play this.

The system they've put into place reminds me a lot of Diablo 3, which gives players the option to just skip right into bounties and never touch the main campaign, which is far inferior to this game's.

It's basically a game that gives you A LOT to do, through various tasks big and small, not to mention tons of ♥♥♥♥ to collect, so you always feel like you're progressing toward something, even if it's kind of easy most of the time. It's still a lot of fun, because hey this is Bungie, and they make shooters good. The new Shadowkeep is very well done, good setting, and some neat world events that get pretty crazy.

It's a more sophisticated Borderlands and it's really damn pretty and incredibly well optimized.

If you're even slightly curious, then you owe it to yourself to suffer the 80gb download and give it a try.

Only six hours or so but God I love this game. I love the way it kicks my ass. I love the way even when sucking bad, you still feel good. I love the art. The narration. The entire atmosphere. The classes. The combat. It's just all so much of what I want in heaps and heaps.

Game might be the best example of style over substance I've ever come across. While every aspect of visual and audio is excellent, the rest of the game is incrdibly limited in scope. Beyond the slick presentation what you're really getting is a mediocre action-RPG and not much more than that. It's a pseudo real-time/turn-based system that quickly turns dull.

The combat revolves around making sure you're out of harms way while you wait for your turn meter to recharge, then when you have it back, making sure to do the most damage possible. The hurry up and wait didn't really appeal to me, and I found it more frustrating than anything. There's definitely some tactical consideration in terms of positioning, and skill usage, but not enough to make up for the combat's overall repetetive nature. And this is a problem, becuase the game basically boils down to room by room clearing, each with either a fight or a small story point. Starts to feel very predictable. They crucified FFXIII for this same corridor-like design, so I don't know how Transistor gets away with it...

I've given this game a solid shot, restarting twice, and every time I beat the first boss, my desire to continue completely disolves. Oh well. I think for me, there are far better options when it comes to ARPGs, so I don't see any reason to bother with this one, despite it's stellar presentation.

I don't know if it's a great game, but it's had an effect on my political beliefs, so I consider it successful in that way. Not so far as to completely change the way I lean politically, but has made it easier perhaps to understand the otherside, because that's one thing this game does well, is make you consider every angle of the problems, and that there are many solutions, though some have bigger downsides than others. Of course, it's just a video game with a limited scope, so despite the reliance on data, not quite an exact replica of our society.

I think you have to really be into this kind of stuff to enjoy the game, though I'd imagine that's quite a few people in America these days.
