Fantastic, if imperfect, remaster of a remarkable FPS.

Pros:
+ Good use of Metroid-like mechanics. New abilities don't just open new areas, but also existing areas are more fun to retread with them.
+ Rock-solid level designs. Encounters reasonably keep you on your toes and you (mostly) don't get lost.
+ Good gunplay. Enemies have good feedback(hit-flash is underrated UX design), residual damage hits enemies from behind and weapons have great variety in utility.
+ Great use of its ancient Egypt setting while providing a variety of locales.
+ Solid pacing. The game never drags on for too long nor do challenges feel insurmountable.

♥♥♥♥:
- UI issues. Menu doesn't tell you the next area you need to go to. You have to either stumble upon the right path requiring your new item(not too bad) or listen again to Ramses back at his tomb(with ZERO subtitles btw so if you can't play w/ headphones you're SOL).
- Health and ammo economy - The problem with Universal Ammo is constantly needing to switch weapons to refill them. The actual ammo capacity is fine, but random drops make it even more of a chore to refill everything - partially remedied by fixed placement of full health/ammo. Best option is to just refill health and ammo when you reach a level exit camel.
- Weak enemy variety. Every level will have the same kind of bugs. So far there are only two "imp" archetypes. Some enemies like cat berserkers are few and far between. Doom and Quake have limited enemy varieties, but id gave each one a hard purpose and combined those with good encounters.
- Maps you find reset when returning to areas.

Verdict:
A great remaster of a flawed gem worth playing for FPS and Metroid fans alike. Find or make some mods to fix some of the issues above.

Great sequel, but incredibly brazen pandering thanks to ArcSys removing mentions of any country that hurt the CCP's feelings.

A perfect example on how to update a franchise.
Faithful to its roots without feeling old fashioned. *cough*Double Dragon IV
Modernizes the franchise without desperately chasing trends *cough*Avengers*coughcough*

It blows the previous SoR games out of the water and stands among the best modern beat-em-ups like Fight 'n' Rage, Aztez and Castle Crashers

A Solid Remaster of a Flawed Gem

My nostalgia goggles were strong with Turok 2. The huge levels, cool enemies and badass weapons were easily my most fondly remembered parts of that game.

PROS:
+ Weapons feel as punchy as ever; Cerebral Bore is as badass as ever
+ Area-based gore system
+ Levels are massively improved so you get lost less
+ Some of the best boss battles in an FPS
+ Weapon economy is balanced so you have enough ammo to take enemies on but never starve for them
+ Amazing QOL features like Area Warp, mission hints and more
+ The full monty of graphics options
+ Loads of rewarding collectibles
+ Decently paced challenge
+ Excellent aesthetic sucks you in

♥♥♥♥:
- No mod tools, the clearest downgrade from Turok 1
- Incredibly cheap enemies and encounters ensure you take damage unless you're psychic or always quicksave
- Even with the improved level geometry, it's still easy to get lost and which teleporter takes you forward
- Damage to enemies is very inconsistent thanks to limb damage; headshots are the only guarantee of 1-hit kills
- Ability granting Talismans are woefully underutilized, relegated to only a few areas

Rating: 8/10

Overall, I rate this lower than Turok 1. It's an ambitious sequel that surpasses the original in some parts - bosses, enemy variety, gore, etc - but falls flat on its face in comparison - inconsistent damage, mod support. It got frustrating and required a lot of savescumming, but I enjoyed my time thanks to the pros barely overcoming the ♥♥♥♥.

All in all, while Nightdive did a bang-up job, they could have gone a little further to smooth out the rougher edges.

Buy this if you're intimidated by Puyo Puyo

The tutorial mode alone is more than worth the equivalent of a fast food meal. It starts from the basics and before you know it, you're able to pull off long chains and hear Arle shout multiple BAYOEEEN!

Pros:
+ Great Tutorial and practice "puzzles"
+ FEVER
+ No Tetris to hurt the online balance
+ Solid English Dub. A HERO. NEVER LOSES!
+ Cheap price
+ Nice tools for improving at Puyo
+ Great remixed music

♥♥♥♥:
- No story mode, an iconic part of past Puyo Puyo games
- Low on features
- Recycled art assets from PP 20th Anniversary and PP Tetris
- Satan is still named "Dark Prince"

A legendary mashup.

Pros:
+ Like Mean Bean Machine? Puyo's basically that but better. Also Fever mode rocks.
+ Tetris x Puyo Puyo mashup works! (mostly)
+ Good story and cast. The Tetra crew deserve to be in every successive Tetris game.
+ A hilarious script. Easily one of the funniest games since Portal 2

♥♥♥♥:
- Terrible competitive balance. Puyo Puyo vs Tetris matches HEAVILY favors the latter, even after patches
- Story mode assumes you know all the non-Tetris cast and does nothing to introduce them. Go read the Puyo Nexus wiki. It won't take long to know the major players.
- Dark Prince is a lame English name. "I'M IN LOVE WITH SATAN" sounds better.

Tetris creator Alexy Pajitnov stated in an interview that Puyo Puyo is the only game that could match up with Tetris. Based on the results, I'm inclined to agree.
Disclaimer: He designed puzzles for the original Puyo Puyo.
