It's a great game whenever I play it. However, it does make my friends sad.

It's a F2P game from Nexon.. but there's something endearing about it as you get a few hours in.

The game feels off.. kills aren't very satisfying, how you rank up with the season pass is not as straightforward as most battle pass systems I've played, and just doesn't offer a lot in game modes that makes me want to keep coming back for more.

Well it took me 4 years to try this game out and I have to say it's some of the most fun multiplayer I've ever played. There's still enough people playing for you to be able to find games to join, though during the work week it can be pretty slim. As of writing this, looks like total player count peaks at ~900 on the weekend.

I usually play DayZ or Escape from Tarkov type shooters, but now and again it's nice to jump into a frantic 40 vs 40 match with bullets flying and the sound of lightsabers nearby. If you're like me and missed out on this game, check it out when it's on sale. Just disable chat during the game, not the most mature community out there.

The gold standard in RTS's.

Played this game first almost 20 years ago. Recently got back into gaming and have been trying to find something to play multiplayer again and boy did AOE2 come in clutch. Even with AOE4 coming out, I see this game going on for a long time, as the community is very active and tight knit. Note, you WILL lose a bunch if you can't at least clear Hard AI in 1v1, but because of the multitude ways you can play, you'll find it hard to get tired of finding ways to become better at the game.

If you're like me and can't get the right level of APM needed for MOBA's and some of the other RTS's out there, give AOE2 a try. APM is still important, but not as large part of the game as it is in Star Craft etc.

Highly suggest this game. Allow yourself some time to learn it, youtube Spirit of The Law or some of the pro players to learn build orders and you'll be experiencing epic battles online in no time.

I love this game.
