Icarus is a very tough but rewarding labour of love, and it really shines when played with friends.
Icarus is harsh and unforgiving, but when you overcome and conquer the missions you do get a serious "sense of pride and accomplishment", and not in the EA sense of that phrase. I have only played the game multiplayer with friends, and had a real blast. Like Skill Up says "everything is better with friends", but this game provides plenty of opportunities to have fun, be it "accidentally" standing to close to a friend with your burning torch and setting them on fire....... for the twentieth time, to working together to beat a giant boss by the skin of your collective teeth. The game is a little rough around the edges and the go live weekend has had some issues, but the devs have worked very hard all go live weekend releasing multiple patches per day. The devs have clearly built a game they want to play rather than cutting and pasting this year's football game. The core game is solid, bugs will get fixed, this game has a lot of potential, both to play now, and to see where the devs take it over time.

There's a great game in here. But it's buried deep under many bugs and technical issues. Playing with friends is a continual battle against disconnects and Epic Engine crashes. It's a real shame because there is a good game in here, but I've spent more time staring at crashes and loading screens than actually playing. Without all the bugs this game would be a 8 or 9 out of 10, but currently it's at best a 5 out of 10.

Excellent game. The RPG elements add to the genre rather than existing for their own sake. The writing is pretty good and the characters are believeable. I found the game to be very immersive, and 8 hours passed like watching a good movie. There are some shonky elements but it didn't impact me enough to spoil my enjoyment. If more game follow this game as a template I will probably be buying. The worst part? Waiting for the remaining episodes.......

Probably one of the best RPGs. Good story and interesting quests, very well written. It always feels like you are achieving an objective and never feels like "questing". Not perfect, the controls and interface can get quite gnarly and jarring. Overall though a fantastic immersive fantasy story that unravels before you. Interesting multi faceted characters.

Very good opene ended gameplay with great replay value

Lovely little gem of a game. Pick it up during a sales ( next one probably xmas sale ) and you''ll get a lot more enjoyment than you expect. Well polished, quirky, fun :)
