I wanted to like this game, as I really like this type of thing, but there are just so many negative things I came across. My biggest issue is the fact that this game just wants you to pay more and more. You get very little as a f2p player, and even after you pay for a subscription, there are so many mobile game-esque mechanics like crafting being timegated, only having so much stamina for things like fishing or grinding your pets up. There is just so much that requires more payment, or another big issue I have, more and more grinding.

Everything you do is ultimately just grinding, and the combat is hardly fun or interesting enough to make this grinding any kind of enjoyable, and I'm someone who really likes grinding in games, I play MMOs for pete's sake. Battles all play out the same, if you're not spending turns and turns buffing yourself so that you can just watch the enemy get one shot, you're watching a multitude of animations play one after one another for potentially minutes at a time.

Ultimately, as much as nostalgia might make you want to play Wizard101, I'd highly advise waiting for some sale on a membership before trying it out, or in the best case scenario, waiting for multiple areas to become free for non-members so that you can try the game out.

As an actual kart racer, don't get it. Controls don't feel very lovely and most of the enjoyment from this game was from laughing at the awfulness.

I love it. Best game ever 10/10.
