Multiplayer feels a bit like a snipe fest as you don't really know where you were shot from, coop feels like an arcade game where you are shooting for the highest score possible. While I don't quite dig the multiplayer, the coop with randoms is fun, but with friends is a great place to just hang out and shoot stuff.

A beautifully buggy mess that is so buggy it goes from the realm of being really bad back onto the other side of the scale to being pretty bloody good. The FoV is criminally low, but with the help of an external tool like Dead Island Helper, one can change the FoV settings so it isn't so nausea inducing and one might even actually enjoy it. That said some people don't mind the low FoV and still have a good time.

If you're able to find a friend (or friends) to hop in on this game too, it becomes an absolute riot. The gameplay mechanics do not change with the increased player count, but this is very much one of those games that act as background noise or a source of entertainment as one converses with friends while they smash zombie heads. Toss in the peculiar bugs like deadly beach balls and there will be plenty to see and do with friends.

My recommendation? Get some friends, get in on this and Dead Island Riptide, and just go hog wild on the local zombie populace. You can have fun alone, but if no one is around to see you kill zombies, did it actually happen?
