Returned to replay this game after 10 years in order to freshen up my lore for a DnD Dragon Age based game we are playing with friends and it still stands with the best of them.
With some mods added this game shows up beautifully with some edges even now in 2019.
The game does not make the experience for dummies, you must read and try and experiment with everything.
For me what tops it off, are the magic combinations, which you find by experimentation or forums research.
