Certain parts of this game is great, it has that classic Wizardry feeling despite being a modern gacha game and it can be completely relentless. Sadly there is a lot of bad things that has to be said about the game which should be enough for most people to give it a thumbs down.

Let me start by saying the PC port is atrocious. Not only is it extremely barebones without any proper changes in UI or hotkeys but it downright doesn't even work in certain screens like the travel or well of the mind screens. You can't remove the silly on screen mobile phone buttons and the game doesn't even have an exit button.

The gacha is incredibely stingy and it feels like even as a new player premium currency is very slow to procure which is a huge warning sign. While the rates are good compared to a lot of games I'm not sure it covers up for the fact that the currency gain is super slow and that you feel like you need a lot of dupes of characters due to all kinds of different ways to use dupes.
Worth mentioning is that is also uses the old classic absolutely vile practice of giving new players 3 days of the premium XP/QoL pass to get you used to the bonuses which honestly was almost phased out even 10 years ago due to how predatory it is.

Lastly I have to mention how downright insulting it is to release the game on PC so much later with no real compensation or even a proper start date. If they wanna make people ignore all the FOMO the genre preys on they should at least have given all new PC players a limited legendary selector so we could get something we missed out on

After waiting over 10 years for this game it's obvious it was never going to live up to most peoples expectations but worst case scenario I expected more of DQ1 but instead we got a watered down souless sequel that just feels completely pointless.

The art is worse and downright ugly at best times and at worst times it's almost offensive to the eyes.
The RPG systems has been dumbed down, you can't even equip different weapons with different bonsues as they dumbed it down to be nothing but "number go up"
The world map feels straight like something from a mobile game, a random JPEG with dots and lines to represent the different stages. It's incoherent and compared to the first game with a proper map it's just another shortcoming.
Maps feels way more restrictive and it screams puzzle game rather than TD.

The only good things I have to say about this game is that the music is fantastic and the person who did it should be proud of themselves. Also the increased roster and most characters being unique is also something I've enjoyed but it's far from enough to salvage the game.

I don't recommend this game to any TD fan and I absolutely don't recommend it to DQ1 fans because this game kind of spits on the legacy of the first one.

Stay away from this stinker unless you are very curious and can get it at 75%

Does a whole lot of good stuff but it absolutely drops the ball by not giving the player a satisfying arsenal of weaponary to use. This is nothing like classic survival horror games like Resident evil or Silent Hill. You are stuck with a knife, pistol and shotgun for the whole game and it's a long game. You will obtain all weapons within 30 minutes of playing which just ruins the whole aspect of feeling any kind of satisfaction from exploration and progression.

Despite all the numerous bugs, UI issues and somewhat repetitiveness I really had a lot of fun with this game.
It really gives you that great feeling of slowly growing your small force of survivors into a formidable force and the ever evolving enemies does a good job at changing up things and making you nervous for whats to come next.

Early Access Review
I'm sure this game will be great in due time but I think it went into early access just a bit too early. I beat my first run without much issues and it just didn't feel that exciting compared to most other roguelites and in fact the lack of a single new starter unlock just pretty much killed any excitement to jump straight into a second run.

Balance seems really poor at the moment and a lot of things don't seem to scale properly.
The UI also doesn't do the game any favors and it's about as generic as it gets right down to the color and font of the text.

But my biggest issue was how poor the performance would become later on in the game and the lack of graphic quality options didn't exactly make the problem any smaller.

I do however enjoy the core concepts of the game and I'm sure the game could be great in the future and if that point ever comes i will re-review it.

What a mess of a game. Janky as hell and just feels cheap and annoying to play. Enemies are invincible when they crash through windows until they get up and the amount of ammo you get even on normal is probably the lowest I have ever seen in a survival horror game. UI feels annoying to navigate and even early on you can feel how tedious the minimal inventory is when it comes to all the keys and backtracking.

This is certainly no old school Resident evil game or even a half competent modern day clone.

Several months since release and no new updates or even a roadmap from the developers. Stay away from this abandoned game

The game wants you to leave a review so here we are.

Let's just start with begging the player for a review when the game is in such a rough shape is quite a bold move.

The game is one of the most broken bullet heaven games I've played in early access and it should have never released in a state like this.

Weapon evolutions that are completely broken and do nothing, knockback being mentioned but doesn't work at all for any weapon, a hitbox that extends beyond your character model and a grind that puts most games to shame. Using lootbox mechanics in a single player game is baffling to say the least.

Granted there are some hints of a proper game behind the broken things so hopefully the devs can step up and do a full overhaul of the grind and RNG elements while also fixing all the bugs but in the meantime stay away from this one

A very generic and bland Survivor like that just oozes cheap and lazy.

UI is very basic and you can't just easily pull up information whenever you want to
Graphics are passable but feels very bland
Some poor explanations for certain abilities like what is permanent and what is only active for the current node
Barely any options to speak of and the meta progression is about as basic and uninteresting as it gets

For the price you paid for this game you could instead have picked up some vastly superior survivor like Halls of Torment or Nordic Ashes just to name a few.

Sadly devs don't seem to like criticism and are instead busy removing it from the forums so it's unlikely any of the issues will be worked upon.
