Early Access Review
Definitely enjoying this game so far, but made sure to go in with the mindset that it is still in beta and there will be issues at times. While it was very tough to learn the game without any help or tutorials (and dying many times because of this), it was a lot more rewarding once I understood the mechanics of both the Acid Spitter Drake and the current dragon in the game.

While I will admit that the current dragon (the Shadow Stalker) does have an uncanny resemblance to the Night Fury from "How to Train your Dragon", there is enough variation in the head and certain body parts to give it some character. I am however looking forward to the eventual release and testing of the new Fire Dragons that were shown in the Dev update back in October and cannot wait to try them out.

Playing as the Acid Spitter Drake was certainly a different, but rewarding switch from playing a dragon and having to learn different hunting techniques as a hatchling was interesting. They have balanced the gameplay and mechanics well between the drake and dragons.

Some things that are needed in my opinion are more food sources for both dragons and drakes to hunt and to survive, as well as possibly a few more rivers for water to balance out the terrain. There are currently two main food sources being the mushrooms and bugs around the map, but their spawns need to be increased as some spawn regions lack either food, water or both, which can quickly lead to death and resetting any progress needed. A nice addition for food would be some mammals such as deer, sheep, goats ect. Another possible addition for a food source could also be fish, since there is a swimming and diving mechanic in the game.

Another thing I would love to see added on the AI side is the addition of natural predators, such as wolves, bears, large cats, ect. While they could be used as another food source, they would also add an element of danger, especially to hatchlings and juvenile dragons as these animals could be hunting you as well, as well as defend themselves a bit from anything hunting them.

A few different animations I would like to see in the game would be as follows:

- An animation for when a dragon crash lands vs landing safely (currently you only take damage);
- Special model changes and animations for both injured dragons, drakes and prey. This could include a heavily injured dragon/ drake limping while they walk as an example;
- A more in depth damage system that could include broken limbs/wings when they are damaged or targeted;
- A more in depth grapple system for picking up killed prey to carry food to others;
- And more emotes in the future for all species.

I will admit that I have not attempted the PvP side of the game yet as I was still learning how to play, but will be looking into this in the near future.

I have high hopes for this game and will continue to approach it with an open mind.

Pretty good, though you really have to drop the graphics to play in VR.

While the race director can be strict at times, the game is a great game to transition into the world of sim racing!
