Underrated game, there are more minigolf games out there but this one has some surprisingly fun mechanics and plays really well. Would be great if it got more attention, I think this would do super well with Workshop support. Devs are really nice as I met them at Gamescom 2023 :)

P.S. Would be nice if the thumbsticks on controllers pushed the camera gradually instead of actuating at a specific trigger point so to say. Makes it a bit easier to target your aim more precisely on a controller.

Amazing game, this is one of the games where you don't want to watch too much, if you're into hack & slash type games with a bit of platforming you'll absolutely love this. Game has really good pace, cool level design, it doesn't take itself too seriously and the humor cracked me up quite a few times. The combat feels super slick hitting combos to the rhythm. If you're worried you're not very good at rhythm games and might find the game hard - it should be no problem. There are plenty of visual cues and you can even have a bar at the bottom to see the rhythm in motion. I didn't find the game hard at all on the normal difficulty, so I switched it up a notch and hard was perfect for me.

A decent story, there are a few holes in the plot but it was definitely entertaining the whole way through. What did ruin some things for me was the extreme amount of quick time events, where you have to rapidly press some buttons in order to make choices. This was really badly done in my opinion, I already dislike this mechanic because I'm not always very fast and it's very easy to mess up. Beyond: Two Souls takes it to another level by not even giving you an indicator and you have to predict how the character needs to move in order to succeed which isn't always clear enough which will 100% make you fail at some of the events causing major story changes for no reason, which is incredibly frustrating. That being said, the timeline approach to the story is very interesting although some of the short stories don't always feel like they're part of the same game, but I kind of liked the diversity. The game also feels very gamey in that there's usually very few ways in how to approach a situation, but overall I thought the characters were very well done. I also had to restart the game two or three times due to my player character or NPCs getting stuck and being unable to continue the story. Despite the flaws I would still recommend the game to people that are looking for a great story, however making choices you didn't want to in the QTEs will be nearly unavoidable.

While I'd say the gameplay is very mediocre and the quality of the puzzles vary a lot, I do love the story that's being told and it's clear there was a lot of work put into this game. Recommend watching a video after playing through the game to pick up on all the clues in the story, because there's quite a lot that can easily be missed. Although I didn't like the gameplay a lot, I'd still recommend it if you want to experience a nice but sad story about loss.

Unfortunately the demo worked fine, but this version doesn't work. When I try to launch Rocket League or Skyrim Special Edition via VR, a message box from Katanga appears saying "NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object" and when I press OK it crashes. The game does succesfully launch in a 3D-ish mode on my monitor, but nothing appears on my Valve Index.

Windows 10 LTSC v1809 - build 17763.316
NVIDIA RTX 2080 Super with Nvidia 446.14 drivers

EDIT:
Managed to fix it by reinstalling SteamVR like mentioned in the thread the developer linked below! HelixVision is really cool so far, although it required a bit of manual configuration. Also needed to turn on UAC.

Too bad it's proprietary software, but it definitely does the job. Very useful in determining the right graphics settings for games.

Great game with lovely mechanics and feel, but the performance is really awful, which is why I'm leaving a bad review until it's fixed. I can really only play this 1v1 only on the Arena map, which is by far the lightest in the game. If I play a 1v1 on Citadel, I drop to 15-45 fps. This is on an overclocked RTX 2080 Super on an Index paired with a i7 4790K on a SATA SSD. Of course my CPU is a bit older, but drops to 15fps while in 1v1s are unacceptable.

EDIT: After my motherboard died I had to get a new CPU and went for the 5950X, I also updated to the 8.4 beta update. Can't really reliably measure the performance increase to 8.4 because of the upgrade but it's MUCH better, pretty much 144fps all the way now unless it's a heavy wave. Anyway, developer is actively working on the performance so changing this to a positive review :)

Awesome game, it does have a few quirks but the graphics and environment are absolutely amazing, the characters are very well done and the music is chilling at times. The only thing I would have changed is to give players more control/choices over the story.

Quite fun game, feels a bit like Battlefield x Insurgency.

An interesting combination of Nordic mythology and mental health. A fairly short (8 hours in-game playtime with nearly all the lore stones) and linear story, and a few of the puzzles didn't make sense to me but I would still fully recommend the game, especially on sale. The story is the best part in my opinion, and the graphics are amazing. Performance is also good, 65-105 fps on a RTX2080S @ 1440p max settings. I would've liked if there were more graphical options though, chromatic aberration doesn't look very nice to me and I dislike going into the ini files to change that.
