Some games just click with me, and I found one. It's everything I could ask for from a manager game. a nitty-gritty prospect system, streamlined menus (sort of), and actually decent 3d graphics. Has its bugs, yes, but they are very few and far between. Definitely fun if you're willing to invest some time in getting the hang of it.

This is going to be a rant from a person who's played this game since around 2014 and maybe some ways to improve the game from its current state. Also probably just complaining since I'm fed up honestly.

I love trains if you can't tell by the 1000+ hours I've spent on the original TS2020, but I feel like DTG keeps half-a**ing this game in typical DTG fashion just like they did with TS20xx but somehow worse. No editor, no multiplayer, let's just focus on more DLC which is rapidly declining in quality! Every route gets shorter and shorter. There is so much potential being wasted here in the walking feature. I'm not asking for a full 9 to 5 train driving job sim, but walking around and collecting objects or pressing 5 buttons and flying away isn't exactly realistic. There are other simulation games where you can't even walk around but you can interact with a crazy amount of things (Ex. OMSI 2) and it's just a highway robbery to charge this amount for a game that has limited interaction outside of driving trains. Also, can we talk about the driving part of the game? TS20xx while is over a decade old at this point, is somehow better at emulating the feeling of driving a train than a game created in 2017-2018. The interface looks like it came straight out of the Need for speed franchise, and the driving is virtually unchanged. Since the driving is virtually unchanged, WHERE IS RAILDRIVER SUPPORT? If this is truly the future of train simulation, then can we include one of the best parts of the past? And now to add the cherry on top of this dumpster fire, the actual company has lost its identity to me. The days of "we are railfans" are over, and this franchise has a grim future.

How do we fix this?
- Actually come through in promises which means the following:
- Multiplayer (which I know takes a while to develop but it shouldn't take the upwards of 3 years. If GTA V could release multiplayer a month after release, you can do it too assuming you even care anymore)
- Editor
- Workshop support
- Add more things to do while walking around. I like the turntable operation on heavy haul, but that's as extensive as it gets. Some ideas: Add an inventory for things to use around the train, make small things accessible like bathrooms in train cars
-Make routes longer than 23 to 30 miles or at least extend them (we have the whole New York to New Haven Line in TS20xx and if it's possible on that engine, it should be possible on UE4)

While I know this review will probably result in nothing being done about the current state of TSW2020, I hope that someone can actually change something over at DTG to make at least some of this happen. As a fan of your franchise who's starting to lose interest in this toxic money-milking cycle, please. Fix your game. We don't want another Flight Sim World to happen.

EDIT - 6/9/20

Congratulations, DTG! You have made your case as a lolcow of a corporation even bigger by ditching TSW altogether! If UE4 and Simugraph have so many issues, then WHY ARE YOU MAKING A COPY OF THE GAME AND MAKING PEOPLE PAY FOR IT? This game was still able to be saved, and you blew it harder than the f**king Falcons in the 2017 Super Bowl. Corporate f**king greed at it's finest. Shameful.
