Significantly worse than the original game. The art style from 2 onward is a massive downgrade, especially when it becomes prominent in gameplay. It's just ugly, like really ugly. It's very frustrating that the developer chose to stick with these atrocious designs when the first game had a very appealing visual style. Not to mention, this "HD version" runs horribly, whereas the original game runs like a dream.

The game is also much, MUCH less scary when I'm too busy holding back my vomit from the art direction. It's so hard to even try to be scared when even Mr. Hopp was hit by the art style change. Definitely not worth installing even if it's free.

EDIT: As of now, this game crashes almost constantly. It takes only about five to ten minutes of normal play before it crashes entirely. Along with that, it also crashes my Discord for whatever reason. So yeah, I can't really recommend this right now.

Not great. The art is generally okay but the environments lack consistency in the size of the pixels and the enemies all look pretty much the same. I get that there's a style they're going for but it really just comes off as lazy. Being made in RPGMaker gives it some very boring and repetitive gameplay but luckily it doesn't overstay its welcome as the game is very short. The music is pretty nice overall but the final boss's theme is extremely anticlimactic, as well as the designs of each of its phases.

At the end of the day, it's free, and a fair few of the characters (namely the two main characters and the shopkeeper) have good designs and cute art.

This game is absolutely phenomenal! I don't even know what I could say about it other than that it's easily the most pure FUN I've had in a long time. Simple but rewarding mechanics, psychedelic graphics, bombshell procedural(?) level design. I highly recommend it.

I'm absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ at this game but whenever I do something even remotely cool my brain becomes a mushy pit of dopamine.

It's Half-Life but the only noticeable difference I found (other than the complete removal of multiple modern options) is that there's a single new item to find and it's literally just a medkit reskin. Absolutely not worth installing, even if it's free.
