I recommend this game for those with the brain capacity to learn how to aim different guns properly. For those who only like arcade type FPS that has perfect crosshair accuracy this ain't for you.
IMO to prosper in this game 3 things are main key.

First key is that tactical positioning is essential for defense and coordination is as essential for offense.

Second key is the mini-map it shows you where team-members are and it also shows the enemies they see and in-turn they also see you on their mini-map.The mini-map is most-useful in solo playing. Even without a mic you can be very effective if you know how to use your map effectively.

Third and last key for me is gun-choice. Jst because you got the cash to get awp doesn't mean you should use awp, unless you are very confident with your sniping skills, its better to get a gun which you can expertly handle. Just accept the fact that not everyone can be a sniper. (If you really want it then practice sniping in BOT/CASUAL GAMES ONLY don't ruin games in ranked with your noob aiming skills.)

Overall the game helps you train your reaction time and adaptability because ♥♥♥♥ can go downhill real fast.

* The addictive effect is real. If you start seeing a crosshair in real life then you probably need a break.
