I don't even know where to begin. I've never been huge on metroidvania style games before. Didn't really understand the appeal, there wasn't a game that looked like a good entrypoint into the series. I've picked up Hollow Knight because other reviews kept calling it a 2d Dark Souls, comparing the benches to bonfires and the very similar death mechanics. I like hard games, I enjoy to be challenged, however I can't get invested in a game that doesn't offer some sort of worldbuilding.

Hollow Knight does everything right. The world is diverse and enchanting. The melancholy tone of the game goes great with the gameplay. It is difficult, yet fair. The new abilities you acquire throughout the game feel powerful. I've played 54 hours currently and that is on 2 save files. This game is a steal for 15 euros (or your local equivalent). I can say that I very much enjoy metroidvania style games now, thanks to Hollow Knight.

Good game.

Hands down Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is the best competitive FPS you can get. The game is well balanced, and has a very large community. The community servers offer a good time for those who don't really want to get into the game competitively.
