No update since April & an awful, awful map.

Mods are great, really hope the time and effort Mash has put into the physics pays off long term but I don't have 5 years to wait.

Absolutely superb iteration of the series, 22 and 23 were real let downs for me and as such I did not have 24 on my radar, I gave it a chance after hearing the reviews and they are correct - the game feels ACCESSIBLE now for those coming in from a car racing background, the assists make learning the game fun.

In no time you're clawing down qualifying times and racing competitively in the pack.

Game looks great, physics feel great, very addictive experience, I will papyrus many hours of this game.

Early Access Review
Early Access Day 1 notes:

Beautiful art and level design for an Early Access title, the scope of the lore and the depth to the atmosphere in The Forever Winter is simply off the charts, this is particularly helped by the music in the game which is superb.

As somebody who used to play Gears of War competitively, the movement is very similar - it has a real weighty third person feel.

Is the AI behaviour/spawn system a bit janky at the moment? Yes, but this will be improved.
Is the water dynamic punishing? Yes, but deal with the angst this causes, it adds a much needed sense of jeopardy to the game.

In it's current form this is an incredible post apocalyptic sandbox game with a high skill ceiling, I think it has the ability to become my favourite PvE game ever.

I want the narrative behind the story to be built upon a lot, voice actors for the NPC's that dwell within the innards etc will make this game feel so much more immersive.

I'd also love to see fixes to terrain, spawn systems, AI behaviour and some optimisation - also a light cover system would be a HUGE QOL feature in this game.

Those who have called for a game to be released early and complained that it's buggy/incomplete are a strange breed... don't follow their negativity for negativity's sake.
